🚨 The Government has just announced that free school meals eligibility will be expanded to cover all children living in households that receive Universal Credit.
This is a very positive move, marking a significant step towards taking hunger out of the classroom 👇🧵

Booked my place! CPD for 2025 autumn term sorted. What an opportunity, thanks for putting this together both I think regulate safe practice is essential to implementation and compassionate habit formation.
Try and look back and celebrate your successes Rhi for they are many! Often we spend time comparing and looking forward especially in the becoming process of psychology but remember to look back at how far you have come and only YOU have done that. No one can take that away.

There are some posted on EdPsy and some on particular sites for example in the west midlands where I am they advertised on WM Jobs as it's cheaper, perhaps there is a version of these sites for local government jobs near you?
@edpsy.bsky.social would be a good place to look too.
Hey Emma, the AEP do a weekly email and EdPsy also do job adverts which are worth a look. I'd also look at your local authority (s) in your area. If you email me at Dan@danielcumber.com I can forward my AEP email to you from this week so you can see?
‘The LEANS curriculum introduces neurodiversity concepts, and explores how they impact primary school experiences. Importantly, LEANS shows how we can hold a positive attitude towards neurodiversity, while also recognising the challenges faced by many children in school.’
Very proud to have been involved in helping to create this free resource about the importance of play. Hope my early years colleagues find it useful. Please share widely! #PlayMatters #EYFS #Edusky

I cited the second edition (published and updated around 2020-2022) in my doctoral thesis (2022, published in a journal 2024) so it holds up if you are concerned about the age of this book for citation purposes. As it's methods age doesn't matter as much in view- good structures for research last.
This book covers many vital bits of qually research. I used it for my doctorate to good effect and interviews are in there alongside signposting to well trusted older papers on methods: www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/produc...
Thanks Gillian, this is really helpful.
I always bear this in mind, as to me it's a key tenet of Educational and Child Psychology.
Similar to our family sayings of:
"A stitch in time saves nine" and "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
Creating meaningful belonging, and "mattering" is so vital.

Congratulations both! Hope you have the best time.
Lots of conversations in group supervision this week about CPD. This year is HCPC renewal, that means 2.5% of EPs will be asked to submit their CPD log. Does anyone have a CPD audit tool that can be used to help inform CPD needs and strengths? #edpsychs #CPD #HCPC @edpsy.bsky.social
Haha me too Rhi!
Fab coaching session with @fionacoley.bsky.social this week. Really helped provide a sounding board, direction and intentionality. Came away with reflections towards making work work for me. Recommend her coaching style: Great rapport but with firm positive challenge. Rare mix. #edpsychs
TEPICC have just released their reflective spaces for Black and Global majority applicants to the doctoral course. They host these spaces each year to provide support for applicants prior to interview 🤩 #EdPsychs

#EdPsychs Does anyone have recommendations for bead sets to use in ‘Beads of Life’ sessions? Looking for a set with a variety 😊
#edpsychs Does anyone have some useful primary aged resources to help an ELSA in discussions with a child to help them understand and process their father coming out recently as a gay man? The mother has asked for ELSA support. Typically I would consult the LGBTQ+ resources -Stonewall, books etc?
Surprising revelations here beyond the headline. A Finnish study where nursery aged children playing in a playground or soil had a completely different gut biome, and significantly reduced inflammatory markers after 28 days than those who played in concrete or matted playgrounds. #edusky #edpsychs
No it was legitimately brilliant (also had a great day).
#edpsychs very helpful article with key principles for support
Make sure you take it off off! Take care and see you in 2025!
Well done Karen, amazing work as always. Enjoy your recharge time!
