A color, macrophoto of a Robin perched on a branch in Virginia, during late April, 2026. The capture was taken during rain and the photographer snapped the photo at the split second a raindrop fell on the top of the bird's head, making it appear like a "natural" crown.

Sad I cannot yet figure out how to watch the game (as I do not have cable and cannot afford DirectTV or Sportsnet), but very happy about the outcome of game 1.

Go Habs go !!!

Shoddy vaccine policy, plus

all the excess COVID deaths caused by disregarding science in term 1, plus

the hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by destroying USAID, plus

all the future deaths caused by rising healthcare premiums…

It’s almost as if this admin does not value human life.

not 💯 sure but I do not think this is a bumblebee bat. The muzzle looks wrong.

It may be a pup of some sort of bat in the family Vespertilionidae.

Also, really not sure why the person is handling a bat bare handed (please do not do this) or rubbing it with a q-tip.

AI image of something that does not even remotely look like a bat.

Disney Lays Off More Than 1,000 Staff Members, Gutting Marvel's Visual Development Team It's been revealed that Disney has laid off over 1,000 staff members as part of the studio's cost-cutting measures, and Marvel Studios' Visual Development team is one of the biggest casualties.

So basically Disney / Marvel is replacing talented artists with AI that they trained to copy the artists’ work.

Nice move. Reinforcing my Disney boycott decision, and now Marvel.

Wait… they’re taxonomically dinosaurs too ? Oh dear… I thought they were not. Clearly I am not a dinosaur expert !

6 days ago 0 0 2 0

By that logic, why aren’t plesiosaurs dinosaurs ?

But also, dinosaurs are a clade, and that clade contains birds.

Meanwhile, pterosaurs are not dinosaurs.

I mean, maybe I misunderstand your comment, it seems to suggest that taxa are not defined by their phylogeny.

Beautiful fish.

Unfortunately, the diver seems to have gotten too close, caused the eel to leave its spot in the reef, and then pursued it as it tried to flee.

Harassment causes animals to waste time & energy and can lead to human-wildlife conflict.

Please dive responsibly.

I am an atheist, so hardly an authority on religion…

But isn’t it weird for a catholic, let alone a recent convert, to state that the pope is not an authority on theology ?

So funny u picked a Batman giphy cos I’m a 🦇 specialist ! But yeah… this is a seal. Those are flippers… and whereas a seal’s hind flippers point backwards like this little guy’s, a sea lion’s are held in a V. So a sea lion can kind of… um… hop along, or maybe waddle is a better term… on land.

The little guy is a seal, not a sea lion (notice the lack of external ears, which are a distinguishing trait of sea lions). Actually, seals are more closely related to walruses than they are to sea lions. And yes. I realise how nerdy my response is.

Does takeaway no. 1 imply that only citizens should participate in demonstrations such as No Kings protests ? Or does civil disobedience involve something more ? Thanks !

I’ve been home in Montreal for spring break since 3 April & am sensing little forgiveness in 🇨🇦.

Several family members & friends have told me they will never set foot in the 🇺🇸 again.

The breach of our 2 countries’ relationship makes me so 😢.

So proud of her.

Deeply uncool to disenfranchise student voters who do not drive or have a passport. Many of whom cannot afford those documents. And all of whom society should want to develop into civic-minded citizens.

This looks a bit more like a male Cooper’s hawk to me. Look at the head, specifically the “cap”.

2 weeks ago 1 0 0 0

Definitely. mature male. At least 3rd year of life. What a cutie !

I worked with these birds for 3 years. To me, it looks kind of like a juvenile sharpie (small head), but the pose makes it challenging. To decide, it would help to know the size.

Too many people who replied that this is AI could have googled “sea spider” and found plenty of images and videos.

These animals are real, they live in the deep sea, and they are weird & wonderful.

Although they are in the same phylum (arthropods) as spiders, they are not arachnids.
