This weekend both the pumpkin plant and irises were in bloom

It was a rough winter for the compost wizard. The HOA for my condo stole my bin b/c it was "against the rules", but the composting goes on w/ or w/o bins.

It's November, which is busy season for a Compost Wizard. Pics of all the leaves I've been gathering out of the roadside. One of my neighbors anonymously lifted me some pumpkins to compost as well

Found this bee chilling in the zinnias. They ended up staying overnight, so I hope the bee was just tired. Might have to give them a sugar water snack later

Pilfered some seeds from the community center's wildflowers. Planted them in #compost and now these beauties are blooming

The #compost has been nourishing my tomatoes well this year

Survived the heat dome from last week and visited the compost after a small hiatus. It's humming along well. I switched to lemon eucalyptus bug spray which helps keep the mosquitoes away, and I set up some mosquito dunks near the bin.

The #compost from last fall's leaves is pretty much ready to use. I stopped adding to the pile a couple months ago. Still in the green, but I don't expect this pile to run too hot at this point. I've started bringing a bucket load of compost to my balcony garden

Another day of #composting

Compost is keeping in the green, and helping to nourish new greens!

Went for a Sat morning stroll and did #compost wizard stuff. Still in the green! There's a ton of bugs bellying up to the leaf compost buffet now that it's May. Which is good for the compost, but I could do without the mosquitoes, lol

Still in the green 💚 the appearance of the compost is getting closer and closer to mud/dirt. Hopefully in about 2 months this stuff will be ready to use! #blackgold

Turned the #compost today. Despite lathering myself in bug spray, the mosquitoes seem to think I'm a snack. #ifiwereamosquitoi'dbeking

Sitting at 90F. I've been letting the pile incubate for a week after the major overhaul instead of stirring it. I'll stir it around Thursday, stay tuned for every twist and turn in this monumental situation

The bin got off-center and I had to pull it up, move it, and then put everything back in. It's a good thing though, b/c there was a layer of leaves on the bottom too compacted to #compost. Hopefully that changes

The #compost is heating up again. Also I saw a critter while I was out BBQ'ing some tofu for Easter

Compost has fallen out of the green. 'Tis disappointing, but it's nice not dealing with record breaking heat.

Temps cooled a little (thankfully my a/c can be turned off). Compost is still in the green!
