A tall, mature lilac tree in full bloom stands in a front garden under a clear blue sky. The tree is densely covered in pale purple or lavender flower clusters, creating a rounded, bushy canopy. It is positioned next to a low wooden fence and a set of concrete garden steps. In the background, white suburban houses with brick accents and a silver car parked on a driveway are visible. The scene is brightly lit by afternoon sunlight, casting soft shadows across the garden.

I did sweetcorn and winter squash yesterday, not done the courgettes yet.

Lovely as that croissant was, it's not enough for a full breakfast, so I followed it up with some Korean garlic chive and spring onion pancakes. Delicious!

I have lived with non-celiac gluten sensitivity for 15 years. I was on a mostly strict gluten free diet, except the odd occasion where I took an enzyme pill to enjoy some of my favourite baked goods and noodles. Then I found out that my gut has healed itself enough for me to have some gluten. Happy!

I've had one (in numbers: 1) asparagus spear so far. It was delicious. πŸ₯°
I have 3 mature crowns in my back yard, those just come online a good bit later.

Haha, I do like courgettes, just not five per week!

Nice! I do save some of my own seed, and I just live with the chaff πŸ˜‚. Love this sorter!

So ... it would appear my rhubarb has gone wild. I *really* need to get round to reducing the crowns a bit next autumn.

A new fruit wash removes pesticides and extends shelf life University of British Columbia researchers have developed a natural, biodegradable wash that removed up to 96% of pesticide residue from fruit and slowed browning and moisture loss.

Awesome, thank you! And I'm pleased it's a ram, too. πŸ‘πŸ

I'm not sure tbh, I may have a couple of metres left somewhere.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I've put it in time-out for now, to think about what it's done, and will think about possible fixes. The position of the hole is a bit awkward. 😬

I know that people say that, and if that's your jam, good for you. I find it gross, having seen the amount of dirt that comes out of it.

I'm not sure if this is a moth hole (it's pretty big for that), or if I ripped it somewhere. Either way: a hole in one of my favourite and most worn garments, smack bang in the centre of the front, just above my belly.
How's your week starting?

It is a great pattern! I wished it had a schematic, and that's the only criticism I have.

Thank you, it's one ply of a combo spin, one ply light grey and one ply anthracite. I never loved how it came out tbh, the consistency didn't work out the way I thought it would, but it's okay. Live and learn!

Garden in style, amiright?

Tbh with you the spinning is questionable πŸ˜‚, it varies between chunky and aran in weight and is very unevenly plied. But it's yarn, and it'll do.

I could really use a sturdy gardening vest, so naturally I found an older spin (2017, ahem) that I don't super care about anymore, and cast on. It's working up quickly, and I may just knit this again in a nicer yarn.

Haha, yeah, it's really hard to get their fleece clean! I do a cold soak, then twice with hot water and detergent, and probably 3 or 4 rinses. I just can't stand the dirt all over my wheels and equipment.

Congrats, how exciting! Did you scour it before spinning? Alpaca really love their dust baths, and it'll get anywhere if spun unwashed.

A crow was keeping a watchful eye on my plot, and the asparagus is poking up already.

Woke up to the same, glorious sunshine and ice on the car. Multiple coffees later I'm about to leave for the allotment now πŸ₯³. Looks like we'll have a week of frigid mornings and summer afternoons.
