Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
This is what’s left of the historic town of Bint Jbeil, Lebanon after Israel passed through it
It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly
Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way

Absolutely heartbreaking. So many mathematicians I know studied there, men AND women.
Maryam Mirzakhani studied there.
If this isn't enough to cancel/relocate from the US the International Congress of Mathematicians #ICM2026, nothing will be.
It's 1am what am I doing

What a fucking shot holy shit
It's TWO VAST AND TRUNKLESS LEGS OF STONE Tuesday!
I can only handle it in small doses before all the indices make me pass out... Lie theory is so soothing by comparison
Yeah it's horrifying ngl 😃
The next step is taking your space of fields to be the derived quotient by the gauge action. So classically you look at the derived critical locus of an action defined on the derived quotient of the fields by gauge. Then when you quantize the derived intersection gets deformed and becomes fuzzy
Yeah I guess the motivation is that intersections can be badly behaved due to non-transversality and the naive intersection loses information that is kept in the derived picture. The ring of functions on a derived intersection becomes a whole (Koszul) commutative dga but you think of it as functions
Yeah it's a whole saga. There's the koszul complex for the classical derived critical locus and the BV complex that deforms it and how integration becomes cohomology. Then there's the shifted symplectic interpretation. And that's before a gauge group even enters into it! Exposition is badly needed
Ho boy. Truth is, I haven't found a clean exposition at all. Maybe it's my calling to write one. Costello's "Renormalization and..." has an overview that is very hard to understand. Gwilliam's thesis has a little intro that is way too condensed... Fiorenza is down to earth: arxiv.org/abs/math/040...
Lord help me I thought these were baryons
First one of these! I gave up trying to get my cat in the frame. Lately I've been trying to understand BV quantization, which has had the side effect of getting me obsessed with representation theory of Lie algebras
Very amusing vowel space playground
