I’ve given up hoping to see something new at the moment. Just recording.. anyway, the Powdered Quaker was the best of 6:3 from last night

The first Cameraria ohridella of the season spotted this afternoon on one of hospital Chestnuts. In four months the trees will look like Autumn came early

And last year was a ‘good’ year, or was it just average. I haven’t been at it long enough to know really 🤔
😟
You’re right and I guess the book got them mixed up 😳
I’ll have another look. Its head was in the sporangia going nom nom… but Clive, my book says filicivora has a black head? 🧐
Thanks for reminding me to check the Hart’s Tongue around my pond. Is this it?
Same here… it’s a bit odd, but not complaining… yet 😬
Brimstone
Shuttle-shaped Dart
These two were NFY but low numbers again this morning, just 10:6…
Some okay temps here but it’s been consistently windy since the start of this month if that’s got anything to do with it.
0 micros apart from a couple of LBAMs in two weeks
It has to get better 🤞🏼 #teammoth
Don’t tell anyone but I think I had one a couple of weeks ago and dismissed it in my fog of sleep brain as a large Small Quaker 🤓
He has fabulous eyebrows
There’s always an ‘orrible hairy fly 👍🏼
Water Carpet, Lampopteryx suffumata
Blossom Underwing, Orthosia miniosa
Water Carpet and Blossom Underwing- both new for the garden. Water Carpet refused to leave the pot & then of course, suddenly flew off… 🙄
Not many records for Blossom Underwing in the Stroud area #teammoth
Yet another windy night 😑 but at least it was warmer. Just 7 moths of 5 species, NFYs were Least Black Arches and Pale Mottled Willow from the trap last night #teammoth
It reminds me of Prochoreutis myllerana but it’s obviously not gonna be that.. nice moth though
At first I thought it was a washed out Shoulder-stripe… then I thought Yellow-barred Brindle… and then I realised I’d never seen it before. Lol
Seraphim, Lobophora alterata, was hiding out in the garden brolly #teammoth
Rescued from the pooch, a Rose Chafer none the worse for its encounter. Gorgeous creature #beetles #invertebrates #summer?! 🤪
I’d say Common too I think. It peaks May/June but they’re out in v small numbers from March according to my sources 😉
Anticlea derivata, the violet tinted Streamer, on 🌳 bark
These are having a good year, I never ‘ad so many (2) 🤭 #teammoth
👍🏼 Looks like a Small ‘un John
Aw dear Dave, 😕 sending bestest wishes and hope things work out okay. Come back soon!
A garden record! Lovely stuff, well done
Jeez…he’s outstayed his welcome for sure
I did the happy dance trying to catch it 😅
Umm, chips n egg lure is up… how long before you get here?
Thanks, ‘twas a lovely thing to see
What are you actually sacrificing though…Is it brain cells ? 🤪
Sure, I imagine if there are plenty of females around the heath, the rubber bung signal would be lost amongst the others? 🤔
Cheers,🍸
It truly is a beaut!
