I never knew vultures could be so colorful until I ran across and drew one of these guys. Love your take on the king vulture. I really like the softness of the feathers around the collar. <3

Yes, exactly! I used to cut out the whole "experimental, colors flashing" phase of things in these videos, but seems to me it's more important than ever to show the human process. :] Makes me feel like I need to include some sort of disclaimer for flashing colors, though. xD

March 2026 Bird Whisperer project is the Inca South American Green Jay. Digital sketch studies of 2 green jays, with the North American Green Jay and South American Inca Green Jay as profile pictures. I wanted to show case the visual differences of the faces between the Green Jays for educational purposes. With the North American Green Jay having less beak floof, dark brown eyes and a blue plumage adorning the head, while the South American Inca Jay as more beak floofage, bright colored yellow eyes and a white tawny green plumage adorning the head. Both birds are separated by the panama canal.
