Heyo mercs! Sorry for going dark here, been finding it hard to meaningfully make use of social media recently.
Anyway, I've recently finished up a video essay about how my new love, Battlefield 6, gets way too much hate, and how we should love it more.

If he tries to charm them, it won't work. Doing something beneficial does.
She is also interested in Dylus! But I am going to make it clear that she’s not a one-note love interest, but in fact has her own story and goals even during the brutal Sunset War.
Not only is she a mercenary with his company, but she has a lot to learn about her people.

For the rest of his 'family', his robotic uncle, TARN, relies on a 'talk first, steal if necessary' strategy as material wealth doesn't matter to him.
Rakkan, a lizardperson, prefers to barter with valuable, but random, items.
Yumiko pays flat rate, but if needed, uses her powers to seal a deal.
His father is more business-savvy and always tries to cut a deal that benefits his mercenary company more in the long run.
Business acumen, unfortunately, is hard to pass down. The old man always is disappointed that his son has yet to leverage his own value to help his own people.

Dylus usually pays full price in civilized areas as that's what he lives by, but on fringe territories and places known to be shady, he always attempts to haggles like a champion.
Attempts, because the only way he wins is if he helps the seller. His words are horrible.
In general, Dylus can be downright nasty when it comes to asserting his rights, especially when it has to do with him. Though he got somewhat better, some of the uglier conflicts involve him and his father arguing, especially after the events of a long and brutal war.
In short, nobody really wins.
I would, but that one's in the future, is a one-way trip, and is all the way out on an oil rig in the ocean...

Dylus fights a lot, but he argues the most with Yumiko, his stepsister, about his condition.
Both sides are in conflict with what to do with an eldritch abomination taking up half of his soul. Both sides have points, but the option they took was... extreme.
