people don't realize how concentrated GOP fundraising is. more than half of all money that they got in 2024 was from donations over $1mn. it's like 200-300 rich cranks that keep the party operating. underrated explanation in why they've gone so insane.

Is that the new clickbait title trend? Raise hope with the first words, then smash it after a mark?

Not sure what is behind his « leather jacket - everyday » statement… looks like an insecure kid going to school with his ski mask.

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

Some of the most useful insights into what’s happening to America are coming from political analysts outside the United States. Here’s a particularly lucid essay that I think you should read.

Is it me or since the announcement of its closing. Headlines are all ”Kristin Chenoweth’s Queen of Versailles” and no longer ”Stephen Schwartz’s Queen of Versailles”…

Afraid to taint Universal’s latest golden goose or just plain old sexism?

I can't get over how the right-wing doesn't understand modern militaries, with the majority serving non-combat roles. You think the best IT security & logistics personnel spends two hours in the gym every day to look like the cast of 300? They're at furry conventions and model train shows.

I'm always worried about the general inflation felt by a society experiencing such a broad cash injection. While some will be relieved and consume more, most will just pay more (price hikes leniency and/or product/service upgrades). Soon, said inflation will have absorbed the influx: back to normal.

Will Donald Trump be condemning and disowning this alleged assassin? Will MAGA and Fox be asked if they contributed to his ‘radicalization’? Will Dems insist Republicans tone down their rhetoric as the GOP did in reverse after the attempt on Trump’s life (by a Republican)?

“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.”
