In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.

Unionized New Seasons workers at a handful of locations remain on strike over what they call an unjustified firing of a longtime cashier. Before the strike, the company had tentatively agreed not to terminate anyone without just cause.
This was non-transparent, even to Councilors - I found out through this press release.
This is not good governance.
Portlanders deserve open processes. You did not receive one on the LUCS. An open process doesn't mean any specific outcome, but it would have been more transparent.

BREAKING: Philadelphia workers have won the first Whole Foods union under Amazon with UFCW.
Since Amazon bought the chain, workers have lost benefits and felt the squeeze.
Now they're fighting back against the multi-trillion dollar giant and hoping this win will be the first of many.
