46 pieces of fabric in various patterns laying on a wood floor.
not just #garmentsewing .....this is how many pieces there are to make the Craftsy DuffleBag
It's why I converted my back-zip jumpsuit pattern into pants and top (both with side zippers). Will post the 2nd making of it soon. Butterick 6130 #garmentsewing
Both are fun! The elastic waist on the 2nd might be more forgiving. Think about bra wearing for both. If the first has back zipper...think about how to use restroom.
When I was in high school and used my mom's sewing machine it has one of those. Worked great.
Is the bodice 'gathered' to fit the collar? If so, be sure to use TWO lines of basting for the gathers. Some patterns don't say to do that, but it makes the gathers so much more even.
Your V front on the shirt is BEYOND perfect! I never get them to look that good.
Just be aware the free Mood patterns vary widely in the quality of the instructions. Some are great, so are severely lacking.
I keep track of fabric I've used w/reviews. My review for a chiffon: "NO - OMG - never sew with polyester chiffon again. Impossible to cut correctly, and cut edges frayed like crazy. It dropped a LOT of tiny pieces too - as if it was asbestos."
(I've heard silk chiffon is easier to work with.)
absolutely stunning!
Pretty!
I bought a set of 32 presser feet; two of them help with stitching in the ditch:
Open Toe Embroidery Foot - the open toe allows me to see where the needle is hitting.
Patchwork Edge Joining Stitch Foot - it has a metal bar you put in the seam, and the needle will hit right there.

Love these and the colorful details on front and straps. 🥳
Nice! So stylish.
"started life as a pyjama pant pattern" - Wow!!
Very nice!
And over here pants are always too short for me (unless I buy 'long')...but petite shirts often fit better due to short arms. 🫠
I tend to buy from ebay where someone has a bunch of uncut patterns for sale. Just make sure they are less expensive than buying new (simplicity.com often has good sales).
I am ridiculously excited to have received my tote bag and my first issue of #TheAtlantic!
WOW!
Tears. 🩷
Comic. Panels up to the 10-year point are grayed out. New panels since the Ten Years comic, which chronicles the first ten years of PERSON 1's journey with cancer: (1) [two people in bed] PERSON 1 (woman): One more chapter? PERSON 2 (man): Don’t we both have to get up early? PERSON 1: Nnnnnggggh PERSON 2: Sure, good point. (2) [many people wearing masks, walking while looking at graphs on their phones] (3) [birds landing on people] PERSON 2 in beanie and scarf: Hah! They like *my* seeds best. PERSON 1 in scarf holding phone with a bird sitting on it: Wait, how do I take a picture of this one? (4) [two people rowing boats with tree landscape] (5) [Person 1 carries overflowing stack of things to Person 2 in bed] PERSON 1: I brought you honey lemon tea, more pillows, a cinnamon roll, Tylenol, another blanket, a– PERSON 2: It was just Appendicitis, I’m really– PERSON 1: *It is my turn to take care of you and I am going to do it right!* (6) [Two people in car] (7) [still in car) PERSON 1: Oh my god. PERSON 2: Oh my god. (8) [car driving] PERSON 1: Pull over! PERSON 2: I am! (9) [both people get out of car] (10) [Large colored panel of aurora borealis over water with both people looking on] (11) [Person 1 sits against tree while Person 2 lies on the ground] PERSON 1: Fifteen years. No sign of the cancer. (12) I *am* having some weird symptoms. Joint pain. Fatigue. I think I’m losing my close-up vision. PERSON 2: Yeah. Me too. (13) PERSON 2: I think we’re getting old. (14) PERSON 1: I guess that’s okay. PERSON 2: It’s all I wanted.

I used the #closetCore trouser class to sew my first pair of Mitchells. When the time comes to cut the fabric for the welt pocket scary music plays. 😂
Good job on the welt!
happens to the best of us!
Very nice!
Beautiful
Wow. I've never dyed to match anything I've sewn!
A white towel covered in vegetables including eggplant poblano peppers Aleppo peppers beets onions turnips and chard
And....our final harvest. The new garden beds (with new soil) did NOT produce good-sized vegetables. We'll amend and try again next year.

Something is so very wrong with these. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel.
Wonderful details!
Nice! And that's a very cool waistband.
