Seven years ago I first read Megan's "Silk Will Hold Her Bones Together" and it's been close to my heart ever since. I'm so very happy this lovely strange couple has finally returned!
If you love dark but heartfelt, please give this one a try.

I really appreciate the transparency @fusionfragment.bsky.social brings to their statistics, processes, and approach. Makes them one of my favorite markets to submit to!
E) All of the above.
So excited to see Sour Cherry by @nassos.bsky.social on this list! Haunting and gorgeously written, this was one of my favorite books of the year.
If you haven't picked this one up yet, no better time!
A small collection of badge ribbons, black with gold writing, that reads "made of spiders" held up to the camera. A red plaid jacket and teal bookshelf is out of focus in the background.
I got badge ribbons!! Come find me at #NorWesCon in the first weekend of April if you would also like to represent women who are made of spiders!
*cheers excitedly in spider noises*

Fantastic picks—Lone Women was such a great read!
Actually failed my first art history class at college; it was pure memorization and I was so unprepared.

A white spiderweb on black background, with an orange and brown spider perched on the lower left. The spiderweb is spun to read NO, and beneath the web is the name of a novella: One Hundred Thousand Lives After Death
I wanted to make some stickers for the novella release and I'm really pleased with this design #horrorwriter #books #OneHundredThousandLivesAfterDeath
DHS targets violent white nationalists in their ICE recruiting campaigns, with promises of unleashing them on vulnerable populations.
The cruelty and violence are by design. ICE cannot be reformed. ICE must be dissolved.

Last time it was Operation Iraqi Liberation
And we pretended we were the good guys.
This time there's no pretense
It's just Operation Illegal Landgrab.
Either way, we know what it's all about.
If you publish the story first, most markets ask for 6-12 months of exclusivity, after which you can publish it as a part of a book.
Alternatively, you can publish it as a reprint after the book comes out. Audio markets in particular are often open to reprints, since it’s a different audience.

Orion the black cat sits next to a scratching pad that reads “Merry Catmas To All, And To All A Good Night.”
Corvus the black cat stands wide-eyed next to a scratching pad that reads “Merry Catmas To All, And To All A Good Night.”
Merry Catmas to those who celebrate.
I think the key perspective is, “You got writing done! In the middle of all that! Heck yeah!”
