Maybe you can hop on #momswritersclub
They "meet" on Wednesdays--it's a great group--fun questions, good community.
Just look for the purple questions when they go live on Wednesday evenings.

That's great advice. Hard to follow. But good to have that reminder.

I'm a middle school librarian--not nearly as much grading--but still quite a lot of time away from actually writing.

Lots of writing "spurts" in my life, too.

Getting pretty good at writing while my kid is in dance class. 🤓

I'm a middle school librarian. I cannot tell you the freak-outs we were ALL having over chapter 42!

And now...

So much waiting. We NEED book 10!

My son created maps for my #YA #Fantasy -- because all fantasies need maps. 😆

My 17 year old explained to me some new slang I hadn't heard--it was just trickling down to the middle school where I teach--so helpful to have this type of resource!

I think I'd just like to hang out with Jane Austen. Maybe make snarky comments while at a ball.

I fully support this reasoning. 🤓

Funny, I was thinking of an Emma, too! Emma Thompson, though, so maybe a slightly different direction!

Sometimes, it's caffeinated. Sometimes, it's spirited.😉

Oh, I love that--I hear their conversations, too--when it is working.

I have a shelf full. But I always come back to Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott--for perspective--and Steering the Craft by Ursula K Leguin for great practical exercises. I'm loving Bill Kenower's Fearless Writing, right now. It's a great reminder of why we do this and why we love it.

Totally! I appreciate great writing so much more, but that's just one side of the editorial brain, and once that is turned on, it's pretty hard to turn off.
