Redid the art style for the game. Have gone for a comicy shader. It's all coming together

Current progress:
- Successfully got abilities and perks implemented fully, with them effecting the vehicles configuration at runtime
- Made some graphics render pipeline decisions to make the game perform better (Dont worry, this isn't the art style im going for, I will be working on that soon!)

I made a couple of changes both design wise and programming wise. To start off I cleaned up a BUNCH of the code and made the project a lot nicer to work in. Also changed up the original game idea and decided to stick with the Street Racing Roguelite idea I had previously prototyped.

Rogue is booty for the achievement grind lowk. Forgor to mention but have already done origins some time last year. Closing in on Odyssey right now (42/93)

Been a while since ive worked on this project.
Have gone through, refactored a bunch of the blueprints and cpp code and upgraded the project to UE5.6.

The backend for customisable vehicles is all already done and just needs a menu to be implemented for it to work

I took my time with this one (way too many collectables).

Onto Rogue next...

Probably one of the coolest things I've learnt in UE5 is Lighting Scenarios! Even cooler that I can toggle this in real time! #gamedev #indiedev #UE5

Oh and I also made an editor plugin that automatically turns decal textures into data assets and populates the decals data table with them. Makes adding new decals as simple as importing textures then clicking one button in the toolbar.

Still need to work on:
- Controller Support
- Editing placed decals colours and positions
- Visual pass (better UI and background scenery)
- Sound pass

Haven't posted an update in a while. Here is what I've been working on, vehicle customisation. The majority of the backend is done. Adding new vehicles, aeros and decals is as simple as creating a new data asset and populating it.

It's here!

In this first entry into a new series I'm dubbing #disassemblyinthedark, we do a blind & unstructured exploration of Splinter Cell, from examining and tweaking game code, to exporting and remodeling assets.

Let me know what you think!

EA just made a whole bunch of accessibility patents open-source EA has made 23 accessibility patents available to other developers, by making them open-source. These patents include technologies for photosensitivity and speech recognition.

Rare massive W from EA.

They had a handshake "we won't sue you probably" agreement for a few years but this is huge W for accessibility for every game dev.

Includes the IRIS plug-in for UE5.

Fables achievements were pretty much like this. They would usually have two ways of completing them so half of the time you would just get them for doing goofy stuff in the game

#UE5 #PCG #PCGEX procedural city update for #screenshotsaturday - a lot of things solved, but hardly any of them visible. This turns out to be one of those things where getting 90% of the way there is easy, and then you find you have another 90% to do. And the last 10 percent takes even longer

Just some funky unreal business. Unplugged the play level sequence node, compiled then plugged it back in and now it works? great 👍

You know what I hear a lot about in this industry? Imposter syndrome.

I made the 8th best-selling game of all time. By all rights, I should feel like an authority. I don’t. I have it too.

Here’s my advice to devs out there: Ignore it. You’re better than you think you are.

Possibly 👀
