I was just going to ask about Flatpak, I have that setup as well when I am going to install apps - and some things I used pacman for in the cli --- still not sure why or when to use different methods to install, but fortunately most everything is set up at this point and working ---

I had no clue which distro to choose! but noticed that some folks who run Bitwig music chose Manjaro - which they said is stable and supposedly setup well for both music & gaming. I love AUR & easy software installs, rolling updates, but what do I know: my last 3 distro tries were over 10 years ago!

Thanks! Yeah I only had a minor hiccup with KDE Wallet and my wifi password, but resolved that pretty quickly. Nothing like my complaints 10+ years ago! BTW, what is up with all the Cachy OS hype? What is the deal with that distro? What are you running these days?

Hey @matthannan.net --- I finally got Manjaro installed on that Asus gaming laptop my son no longer needs -- Steam & Bitwig (music production) all working AOK!!! Love it -- really nice to have a laptop that I can use out and about without all the WIndows bs - #manjaro #linux #bitwig

I'm thinking of installing & messing around w/ Linux on my son's 2022 gaming laptop (we upgraded him to a new laptop this summer & he abandoned it to me) - what do you recommend for something that'll work with Steam and gaming, but be pretty minimal?
