If you don't want to buy your ebooks from Amazon, you can buy from hundreds of other e-bookshops instead!
Here's my regularly updated list of over 500 (so far) online shops that sell DRM-free #ebooks, digital comics, magazines, and RPGs.
All legit! All personally checked by me! 💜
"Well *I* never bought into ebooks in the first place" is half my timeline this morning snd... congratulations, I guess?
Go through the last 20 books you read and find out how many of them have a large print edition.
Happy Asexual Visibility Day 2026!
Today on the site we're celebrating Asexual Visibility Day (aka International Asexuality Day) as we do, with books starring asexual main characters or about asexuality! For even more recs, check out last year's post. Children's Love Looks Like Lola by Cory…
there are a bunch of romances on this list!!
most of them are no cost~

Visibility feels very not needed. I'd rather make trans books visible, especially if they have a trans main character(s)!
So drop us your trans book recs!
If you're a trans author & or have a trans MC; give us a description, link & graphic of your own books!
🌈📚💙🏳️⚧️ Boosts appreciated!

Happy Pi(e) Day! 🍎🥧🍏

i actually think "books should be difficult and somewhat painful to read and you are Bettering Yourself through Struggle" is a worse attitude for mass literacy than "I have specific preferences and like reading a lot of fun stories" tbh

Allo romance authors, please stop writing ace spectrum - esp demisexual - characters as "gay for you". Their asexuality isn't made moot by the fact that they're interested in a relationship with someone.
I want a broader range of historical romances. Give me ancient worlds, Africa, South America, even France and Spain feel more interesting. And forgotten niches of history (have you heard about all the people trying to build utopian communes during the Regency? It went bad so dramatically!).
Colorised sketcbook pages depicting various character from the Mario franchise. On the left side, Goombella and Vivian chat over a cup of tea about their crushes. On the top right, Rosalina daydreams at a garden table with a mug of hot tea in her hand. Behind her, a starry background where a few lumas twirl around with Mario's spaceship. And finally on the botom right, Luigi hums while reading a magazine.
My ultimate anti-stress remedy ? Drawing Mario characters in casual clothes, having a nice time 😌
Painting on a golden-hued, buff toned square coaster of a pied peahen amid pink peonies. The peahen is mostly brown with barred feathers but has a blue-green neck, and, in common with pied coloration, has patches of white feathers interspersed throughout. She is in profile, facing left. The piece is lightly stylised with generally flat colours and fine detailing on the feather markings.
Pied Peahen & Peonies
Gouache & acrylic gouache on MDF coaster, 98 mm.
This piece ended up taking a long time for what was supposed to be relatively ‘simple.’ 😅
The peahen’s neck is actually more teal-blue-green, but neither my phone camera nor my scanner were equal to capturing this.

It’s been 80F for the last two weeks but this morning is actually cold 😭 winter was over what do you mean it’s in the 30s
A collection of illustrations of crocodiles and alligators against a soft green and yellow background. They are playfully either swimming or loafing around, playing with fish, taking care of their young and chilling in the water. The crocodiles and alligators are mostly green and yellow, save for an albino alligator. They’re so loving and fun, these toothy friends!

Carrion Saints by Hiyodori. Cover has a woman standing in front of a red light and there are roots surrounding her.

This is so so good and I’m only about 15% of the way in.
The main characters are immortals living through the end of the world. I’d say it’s a darker fantasy developing eventually into a F/F romance (but I’m not to that part yet!). #booksky

It's the end of the Year of the Snake 🐍 💖

Today is the LAST DAY of the friendship bundle! If you would prefer to immerse yourself in stories about friendship rather than romantic interest, this is the bundle for you!
I’m about halfway through and I do think it holds up even though it’s almost 20 years old.
I’m rediscovering Historical a little this year and I’ve really enjoyed learning history through romance stories.
It also inspires me to do a bit of research online whenever I encounter new information!
Wild Sweet Love by Beverly Jenkins. Clinch cover.
Celebrating with this 2007 Historical/Western romance for Valentine’s Day! Beverly Jenkins is a Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award winner but this is my first book of hers I’ve read.
A medieval illustration of a hedgehog with grapes skewered on its spines
It was believed in medieval times that hedgehogs had spikes so they could roll over fruit to carry home to their children, which is not true but is a really cute idea
The maid and the crocodile by Jordan Ifueko. The cover has a girl in yellow with vitiligo and the shadow of a crocodile.
Just finished this and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a romance which examines class inequality and disability in a fantasy setting. I’ve loved all three books by this author and I think she’s becoming a favorite :)
Last year I decided to find and read more self pub authors and LGBT+ authors.
This year I wanted to read more BIPOC and non American authors/translated works.
I just heard about this database and thought it was a super cool resource to help me with my reading goal:

I have to go in on my day off for extra training.
We are currently trying to determine if the new lab instrument is a lemon or if the constant downtime is due to “user error”.
Considering all the campuses that have this instrument keep calling service I’d wager this model is just cheap shit.

a watercolor painting of three overlapping skulls with a crown of peonies. One unhinged jawbone has three peony buds growing within it.
After years of being asked about it, I am finally making an oracle deck. neat!
4) The Dead Cat Tail Assassins by P Djèlí Clark. My current read! I do like it so far but I’m not sure if it’s going to stick the landing. I went in pretty blind and it’s not quite what I expected.
