Happy Earth Day, NYC!

An affordable city is a sustainable city. I'm proud to support NYCHA’s ambitious new Sustainability Agenda, which includes heat pumps, electric vehicle charging stations, induction stoves, and other energy-efficiency upgrades for NYCHA residents over the next five years.

Germany just activated its largest ever solar installation — one farm, 1.5 million homes, zero carbon. The #CottbusSolarPark covers 3,500 hectares and produces 2.1 tw-hours annually, replacing two coal plants that operated on this same land until 2022. #SolarPower #ActOnClimate #Renewables

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented.

They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed.

That energy is all around us.

And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

A river does not force its way to the sea.

It does not worry about the rocks in its path.

It does not stop flowing
because the terrain gets difficult.

It simply moves.
It finds the path of least resistance,
and follows it.

Not because it is lazy.
But because it trusts the landscape to guide it.

In a First for the U.S., Renewables Generate More Power Than Natural Gas In March, for the first time, renewables supplied more power to the U.S. than natural gas, a milestone in the transition to clean power. However, rising power demand is complicating the shift away from fossil fuels by extending the lives of many aging coal power plants.

In a first last month, renewables supplied more power to the U.S. than natural gas, a milestone in the shift to clean energy.

"20 yrs ago the world took a year to add 1 gigawatt of solar.
Now it takes just half a day.

Solar costs have fallen by around 90% over past decade, & as costs fall, installations accelerate.

Nowhere is this clearer than in China 🇨🇳. It now accounts for well over half of global solar installations"

The AP began in the mid-19th century when NY newspapers looked to share costs of reporting outside their immediate territories. Now it's offering buyouts to some of its U.S.-based journalists as it accelerates away from the newspaper journalism that sustained the company since the mid-1800s.
