Had wrong surname on 1000 trees, I finally cracked it but my tree is set to private. I was able to correct her maiden surname and link her to her correct parents on find a grave, and that correct info is now spreading across several platforms. My Scottish granny from Brechin finally getting her due!

Excited and a tiny bit hopeful
It’s the variety I miss most of all, and not just in music—
Cylindical dome shaped mushroom on a white stem in grass, it is cream colored towards the top, fading into a very light pink, finally fading into a black edge around the rim that is curling up like an old wig. It is starting to separate into what looks like hairs about halfway down. There is a beige colored piece on the top that looks like a flat hat.

a form of digital surrealism (painting photography illustration) An olive green seahorse seemingly wire-tethered to the sand ocean floor- a woman in white sits at top of stairs and gothic door carved into its tailpiece. Branches sprout from the seahorse head, dark birds fly away in green sky-ocean clouds.

This must be what he was talking about when he splurted “We are punching them while they're down, which is exactly how it should be.”
a photo of a book page, from Field Guide To The Haunted Forest by Jarod K. Anderson, that says Many Hands The world will always be troubled. This is true. You deserve to feel happy and comfortable. This is also true. If you feel the first truth undermines the second, I offer this: Own a share of the virtuous work toward solutions. Don't burden your worth with global outcomes. The good and the evil are happening concurrently. The choice to focus on the good is itself a way to defy the evil.

Two wild stallions on top of a mountain ridge standing on their hind legs sparring, and silhouetted against a moody sky
After storms had flooded the lower desert I found the herd high in the mountains. I heard the loud whinny and turned to see these two silhouetted against the moody sky. Knights of the realm.

Ah is too
A pine tree that has curvy trunk and twisted branches surrounded by straight growing pines that seem more like the norm or with less character. Black an white photo.
Even the most gnarled tree is eloquent in the telling of its own tale.

A darkish mostly black and white photo showing 3 people bathing in a body of sparkling water surrounded by rocks with the sunlit ocean in the background. The closest person is pointing up at something out of view.
A beautiful and faraway day, the “Queen’s bathtub” on the Mokes at Lanikai
A Lynda Barry quote on top of a picture of a faraway person standing at the tip of an angular rock cliff under a big blue sky with clouds. Quote: The ordinary is extraordinary. The ordinary is the thing we want back when someone we love dies. When someone dies or leaves or falls out of love with us. We call it "little things." We say, "it's the little things I miss most." The ordinary things. It's the little thing that brings them back to us unexpectedly. We say "reminds us" but it is more than reminding-it's a conflagration —it's an inundation —Both fire and flood is memory. It's spark and breach so ordinary we do not question it. The atom split. The little thing. —Lynda Barry
This will spell the end for Monarch butterflies
Another kind of nurse log—a fallen tree...the heart-shaped, vibrant green leaves are likely False Lily-of-the-Valley...Mycorrhizal fungi bridge the gap between the log and the new plants, passing along essential minerals. #ecology #nature #plants

golden light, tall winter trees, soft blue sky
Meadows of gold dust. The silver
currents of the Connecticut fan
and meander in bland pleatings under/ river-verge farms where rye-heads whiten.
All's polished to a dull luster

Everything they do is magic. Thank you for helping them!
Top of a crested saguaro in glowing silhouette with the sun behind it and a bird perched on top.
The crest of a crested saguaro in sunlight, showing the branching and curving patterns of its lined grooves going all crazy instead of just straight vertical like its other parts, a few balls here and there indicating new growth, will there be more crestage?
Cactus wren and crested saguaro (🎶volume up for sweetness)
Feeling lucky I got to live when the monarchs could do their amazing thing.

Literally, The Last Image I took in 2025. A Short Eared #Owl perched today above Shillapoo Lake as the sun was setting on the Year.
A good year in some ways, a terrible year in others.
We hope for better #2026 for everyone.
