New favorite insult dropped:

“If you fall for this now, with decades of hindsight from the War on Terror you should probably have someone follow you around and smack your hand anytime you're about to trade your family's cow for magic beans”

The only problem was he had a lot of ground to cover, so he’d just creep down the road but wouldn’t really stop unless stopped by someone. Which meant when you heard the bell, you had to grab your knives and run down the street chasing him like a knife wielding maniac.

Things I miss from city living: Mike’s Knife Sharpening truck. He’d drive around in this funny little truck and bang on a bell to let you know he was near by. He was from south brooklyn but we’d see him up in northern Manhattan at least once a year.

A rule of thumb that will rarely lead you astray in this country is to assume that a riot was started by the people who showed up armed and dressed for a riot.

Luddites weren't anti-tech.

They were against technology being used by the capitalist class to capture wealth at the expense of the worker.

I am a Luddite, and a tech enthusiast. They're not in opposition. I want technology that makes MY life better, not that sells my life piecemeal to corps.
