I use free-range eggs as they're more likely to be disease free when I make tiramisu, which uses raw eggs.

Only a few weeks ago, Hipkins' leadership was questioned as his wife leaked some damning comments. Now the tables have turned. "I'm not having anyone from Labour tell me..", "But I'm entitled.."! Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end for this gvt.

New Zealander Everlee Wihongi detained by ICE in California after three-week trip home "It's been over a week, and we still don't have an answer why," Everlee Wihongi's sister says.

This was on prime news. How to discourage tourism!

Every single article I read about Madonna at Coachella mentioned that she’s 67. Not one article I read about Nine Inch Nails at Coachella mentioned that Trent’s 60.
ISN’T THAT WEIRD?
It’s almost as if everything Madonna has ever said about misogyny is true, or something. 🤷‍♂️

Ed Miliband to double down on net zero with measures to combat Iran energy shock As fossil fuel prices soar ‘the era of clean energy security must come of age’, energy secretary will say

The reason our electricity prices are so high is that they are based on the price of gas which is the most expensive energy source.

The UK response shows how badly the Luxon government is failing New Zealanders right now.

Luxon reminds me of King Lear. He wants the power and adulation without the work (no portfolio, is rarely able to comment) or accountability. This upsetting of the natural order is reflected in a stormy world in the play. Just like in real life! How appropriate.

The councillor who complained about Far North advisers voting is an Act supporter. If unelected list MPs (most of Acts') can vote in parlmt on laws, then why not advisers on councils who have been selected like list MPs for their expertise?

Recipe for bread.

Recipe for bread.

I did type the recipe out to send. If I find it, I'll send it again! I made one normal size & 2 smaller loaves. Last time, the mixture overflowed. I bake for longer than 30 mins. I also took them out, inverted & popped back in as the bottoms were soft. When toasted, it has a nice crunch. Sm t = tsp

3 loaves of Vogels style bread & ANZAC biscuits

My day was more productive than Luxon's: 3 Vogels style loaves & Josh Emett's date & orange ANZACs. I doubled the recipe for 26 biscuits. Very tasty.

Post cabinet presser yday Luxon was exasperated with Jo Moir when she asked him what he was going to do about the flooding. He & Erica talked about education but never mentioned the calamity unfolding outside. So no, he doesn't want robust questioning on anything. Empty, unempathetic suit.

NZ Govt has taken a huge bet on fossil fuels. NZ was already spending $8 billion a year importing fossil fuels, and now the global fuel crisis is going to make that worse. Betting on fossil fuels has turned out to be a losing bet for NZ. This is the 14 point policy record of 2 years of the NZ Govt:

Imo Jones, a Dalmatian Maori, is doing a good job on his own of destroying our foundation character. NZ was known as God's own, laid back & tolerant. NZF has rolled back use of te reo & refs to the Treaty in gvt statutes. While Peters supp an openly anti trans, authoritarian & racist Trump.

After reading Paul Holden's "The Fraud", I agree they need an inquiry into McSweeney and how he orchestrated Corbyn's downfall by amplifying & leaking 'anti semitic' posts, some by Jews!

An woman from AotearoaNZ who has lived in the USA for 26 years was arrested by ICE after visiting NZ for a family member's 80th birthday a week ago. Her family don't yet know the charges. It was shown on prime news. Not a good tourist promotion.

Luxon doesn't read. His usual response to Qs is, "I haven't read that rept." He does Tiktoks not writing. And given the amt of borrowing his gvt is doing, despite accusing Lab daily of overspending, I'm not sure Luxon & Willis can add. Not to forget cancelling $3b for boats in favour of $56b 4 RONS.

'A storm every eight days' - country's biggest insurer calls for systemic response An increasing number of severe weather events were now happening in spring and summer, IAG says.

And more crappy weather due to the gvt's rollback of CC policies which makes us less insurable due to a 200% rise in claims. Unless we reduce risks & protect communities more our insurance cover will decline.

200% jump in claims. Unless risks are reduced & NZ is better protected we won't get insurance cover. Yet at post Cab presser Luxon ignored Wgtn flood until Jo Moir asked what he was going to do to help. His response sounded exasperated. The gvt fiddles while we drown!

Gray whales are starving. Some have died off Oregon Coast Gray whales aren't getting enough to eat to survive their long migration toward Alaska.

Sorry to post this for those who abhor seeing this kind of news about wildlife. But while we are collectively agonizing over the state of our nation, the state of our planet is probably the more urgent news.
