I like it. But then I’m a sucker for any musical bio pic. From The Great Caruso to Song of Norway, bring em on!
Out and about celebrating 60 years of Highway 61 Revisited this morning with the walking tour A Complete Unknown: Bob Dylan in 60s London #bobdylan #highway61revisited
😆
Breathes there the man, with soul so dead/Who never to himself hath said/This is my own, my native land 🏴 #trumpinscotland
Thanks for booking Lloyd, see you later 🎸

Pleased to be quoted in the London Evening Standard on the new plaque for #RodStewart at Twickenham Station. If you’re heading down Twickenham way to see it, make sure to call in at Eel Pie Island Museum & Eel Pie Records www.standard.co.uk/news/london/...
Thanks! I’ll tell her 😀
So The Daughter made me another extraordinary Fathers’ Day card in the shape of a Kinks 45 ❤️ This is No.3 in the series - pic 3 shows her Sun Records & Decca versions from previous years #fathersday #thekinks #pye #decca #45rpm #vinyl #sunrecords #art #dadstuff #dadsanddaughters #craft #homemade
#NowPlaying I seem to remember this LP met with a few sniffy reviews in 2022. I thought it was a sweet record and I warmed to it immediately. And right now it’s exactly how I want to hear the songs of Brian Wilson. Simple, stripped-down & devotional cover versions. #sheandhim #brianwilson
Yer Da needs a slip mat ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
And so in a giddy, wrist-flapping tizz I bought tix for The Waterboys at Roundhouse… only to realise that I’ve got a long-standing job that night. Delighted to pass tix on to 17 year old daughter - same age as me when I first bought This Is The Sea. Is that the circle of life of which they speak?
Leaving Finchley, where early 18th Century thief Jack Sheppard once took refuge following one of his famous jail breaks, heading for St Giles where his criminal legend was born… I’m leading The Beggar’s Opera #walkingtour Theatre history, music history & true crime, an unco blend for the Sabbath day
Was it the refrain “Genius! Hurrah!” From the new LP, it’s a sticky one. Good show?
@ianindentdesign.bsky.social Meant to post this ages ago… we’ve got your painting up above my piana 🎹 Thanks!
What did we get up to this morning? We brought down the govt., protested a war, decriminalised homosexuality, watched The Avengers, tuned in to Radio Caroline, visited Groovy Bob & met Twiggy. Just another morning on the London In The Swinging 60s #walkingtour Thanks to all who joined me! 🍸☮️🪖🎸💊📸👚🏙️
Sound & vision check for tonight’s Monday Night #MusicHistory Club on Zoom. Papa’s got a brand new headset! Hoping the wires don’t curtail my trademark dance moves 🕺
Tonight we’re plunging into the depths of 18th Century London to take a look at The Beggar’s Opera and the origins of #musicaltheatre
This afternoon I will mostly be abusing a highlighter pen. Very exciting #theproms #livemusic #lovemusic
@timsmith2024.bsky.social Hello Tim 👋 I called in at the brilliant Union Records in Lewes today, picked up the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Muireann Bradley LP. Great shop! Must drop in to yours one o these days
An unusual location… I’m ostensibly on a “day off” & night away in East Sussex, but couldn’t resist a snap of Lewes Prison where Mick Jagger was held on remand, with art dealer Robert Fraser on 28 June 1967 following the Redlands bust of February that year.
There’s ALWAYS a music history location
Tour guides’ Bank Holiday Tuesday - bouncing around East Sussex with The Gaffer in beautiful Lewes #dayoff #tourguidelife #eastsussex

An enjoyable musical week. A trip to The Face exhibition at NPG, playing tunes at home, booked 🎟️ The Divine Comedy in Oct & showed music fans around St James’s, Earl’s Court, Soho and Fitzrovia. Looking forward to seeing a few of you over the long #weekend. Whatever you get up to, have a good one

I have a joke about Prometheus, but it's a bit burned out.
