Looks like bluesky is going to be added to altmetrics! #philsky #academicsky
MMR vaccine coverage in England at 24 months 1988-2022 showing dips at 2003-2004 and peaks at 1994 and 2014, and slow declines to approx 89% with WHO target at 95%.
Andrew Wakefield’s MMR studies were published in 1998 and 2002. Vaccine coverage dropped steeply in the early 2000s. They recovered pretty well over the subsequent 10 years. It would be interesting to understand what methods worked to achieve this, as they start to slip down again.
Here are the surgeons starter packs with Round 2 now having kicked off. Please contact me if you wish to be added #SurgSky #MedSky #OBGyNSky

Has anybody given though how we‘ll work without NCBI/NLM, no PubMed, no anything that’s curated by the NIH? Are there mirror sites? Work arounds? Back ups? 😬
What mechanisms are there to safeguard integrity of the search function in PubMed under a RFK Jnr controlled DHHS? We’ve already witnessed how search functions elsewhere can be completely manipulated to reduce access to science for political reasons. Can we take pubmed search for granted? #Medsky
This is a very good question.
We strongly suggest that academic publishers and other platforms that host research rapidly implement a Share to Bluesky button for their articles. Here's how:

Here are more than a few that I have found so far #SurgSky go.bsky.app/JhPwuUd
Surgeons assemble - or as we say “let’s do the WHO introductions”
I’ll start: Kasia, vascular surgery, Oxford (uk)
A growing starter pack (not many of us here yet). Please tell me who I forgot and share widely / invite others. All subspec and countries!

Great to see this growing! Anyone new to BlueSky and looking for your surgery community, below is a starter pack! #SurgSky
New #Medsky feeds have just been released:
Internal Medicine Feed, #IMSky bsky.app/profile/did:...
Cardiology Feed, #CardioSky bsky.app/profile/did:...
GI Feed, #GastroSky bsky.app/profile/did:...
Surgery Feed, #SurgSky bsky.app/profile/did:...
Nephrology Feed, #NephSky bsky.app/profile/did:...
#SurgSky here is the latest #MedSky labeler for the surgical disciplines (there are still a few missing)
Note for #Medsky newskies, Bsky doesn’t have blue checks, instead it lets you use a domain name as verification.
For example, if JAMA has a Bsky account, it can have the account handle jamanetwork . com and you’d know that it was the real JAMA because only they could have that domain.
User stats showing 14,252,530 users, 545.64M posts, 572.46M follows and 2.223Bn total likes
Bluesky user numbers still rocketing.
Over 14.25 million now and growing today at a rate of 2 new users every single second.
Welcome all! 🦋🎉👏
