Benign and often kind, but she is *also* predatory and fierce. Her followers can be rather intense and pushy on certain matters, but there are also people who like being 'prey' of sorts, so it is important to find the right partners/targets.

'Selfish' and 'jerk' are bottom lines, so long as there is also enlightened self interest; anyone worse than that is getting a warning, and if needed, a smiting via divine agent.
Not that the gods are always *nice*. The goddess of the night, moon, wilderness, predator/prey, etc., is overall 🧵➡️

a thing here. The majority of gods were carefully selected to make a team for creating this universe (in-universe, the gods acknowledge this is not the first or only Creation).

There are younger gods, risen mortals and the like, but they are carefully monitored while building toward ascension. 🧵➡️

It's my solution to some problems I feel a lot of settings have.

A) I dislike the "balance of good and evil" thing. Order and Chaos? Yes, those want balance. Evil happens because some people will choose evil, no matter how you try to help them.

B) Thus, no evil gods. "God of murder" is not 🧵➡️

There's so many little things, and sometimes the inspiration is simply "This fits thematically and will cause some trouble for one of the characters in an entertaining way." 😈

The in-universe results of a major upheaval that threw a lot of cultures into one area, followed by enough time for things to do a decent job of melding, allows me to use names I want, instead of limiting myself to a specific culture/sound for character name. 🧵➡️→

There is a powerful warrior in the setting that is built from 1 part a real world myth/ancient story, 1 part each from two different video game's interpretations of his origins, and of course a few twists of my own. Not saying names to avoid spoilers. :) 🧵➡️→

I'm having trouble with a 'favorite'. There's lots of them. But here's a sample of them:
Shizoku means 'quiet child'. She is an opinionated prodigy of a kitsune witch and alchemist.

Balancing the power of the gods for being truly universal-sized entities was important. "Nigh-infinite" power, with 'nigh' doing some very important work there. No Omni-anything. Being imperfect is part of why they must be careful in their actions.

Thus, it is up to the mortals to reach out to the divinity(ies) that resonate with them the them the most. Making that connection with sufficient devotion (and accuracy to deity's interests) is how one becomes empowered as a priest/champion with divine magical abilities/spells. 🧵➡️→

My gods are actively benign and wish to help, and are constrained by a concern for freewill, plus being powerful enough that acting directly can readily damage a planet.🧵➡️→

For the setting specifically, I am going to have to say it is having created a universe with a definite upward/ things getting better bias, while still requiring people to choose to act better and improve their lives and the lives of those around them. Figuring this out is probably a good thing.

We all have issues, Learning what our issues are is the hard part.

I have known people most of my life who treat a statement or indication of feeling an emotions as if it was a statement about feeling a lot of that emotion, or feeling it intensely.

Thus the minimizing language, to emphasize that it is *not* a powerful feeling.

But too often, I am writing something as small because I want to make sure it is not read as something big.
