From city to city, I’m putting in the miles because Southern Oregon deserves leadership that shows up and delivers.

I’m ready to get to work in Salem, but first, to be the Democratic nominee for Oregon State Senate District 3.

Medford is creating a downtown Economic Improvement District.

"This is not the end goal, it's the beginning goal. And as there are successes, more people will want to buy in because they see the vision and they see the actual on the ground results," said Kevin Stine, Medford city councilor.

I’m looking to take 12 years of experience on the Medford City Council, where I have worked on big issues such as housing, homelessness, and working with non-profits, to the State Senate.

It will be a tough campaign, but I am excited to show people I am the best candidate for the position.

Medford Councilor Stine officially enters state Senate race as Democrat | Rogue Valley Times Incumbent Jeff Golden withdrew from race Friday and will retire at end of current term; Denise Krause also running as Democrat, Brad Hicks as Republican

I have filed to run for Oregon State Senate District 3!

Been a wild few days, and I'm so grateful for the support I have received. I look forward to running a strong campaign.

I listened to all the episodes awhile back. The information on the 1976 Republican Primary was incredible.

Last week I said a farewell to our four wonderful Medford City Councilors. Many years of discussions about how to improve the place we all care about, and the pathways to do so.

Thanks to Sarah Spansail, Tim D’Alessandro, Eric Stark, and Chad Miller for their service to Medford. #orpol

Senator Anthony Broadman coming into the Senate as a freshman and getting on Housing, Judiciary, and Ways and Means is very interesting to me.

Trump beat Kamala 80-0 in this Malheur precinct. A change from the 90 to 1 margin of Trump over Biden in 2020.

I didn't see a comparable for Kamala Harris, but plenty of Multnomah precincts are in the high 80s, with far more votes overall in those areas.

Oregon’s red-blue divide widened this presidential election. See how your neighborhood voted And see how every Oregon precinct has shifted politically since 2020.

The best article I read this week was about the Presidential election precinct results in Oregon.

There's mapping where you can click scroll around the entire state and see the election results by precinct, along with the change from 2020 to 2024.

A precinct in Malheur went 80-0 for Trump. #orpol

AI slop is already invading Oregon’s local journalism The Ashland Daily Tidings — established as a newspaper in 1876 — ceased operations in 2023, but if you were a local reader, you may not have known because of an elaborate scam using artificial intelli...

The best article I read this week was about a website taking the name of the former Ashland Daily Tidings. It reproduces and repurposes work, taking the names and pictures of journalists.

I saw the website awhile back and didn't understand what was happening. Great read by @ryanjhaas.bsky.social.

If you can't ask someone's age during an interview, it would make sense that you can't release it to the media.

I want to pay money for local news and it is not possible. My money pays for less and less until it is just a shell of a paper, and maybe no paper at all.

The news of the cuts lead to more people cancelling their subscriptions which leads to more cuts.

The RV Times has seen cut after cut in their short time as a newspaper. Really unfortunate as a subscriber that wants them to succeed.

The 4th and 6th districts being that close is interesting.

This will never get the signatures to get on the ballot because it takes more than conspiratorial tweets to get anything accomplished.

The Earl of Portland: Earl Blumenauer leaves Congress, but Portland’s challenges keep him inspired U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer has worked in elected office at City Hall, the county commission, the Legislature, and the U.S. House; his next chapter starts this month.

The best article I read last week was this piece about retiring House Representative Earl Blumenauer. #orpol

There was BlueOregon, which isn't an equivalent to the suggestion, but was a blog that had commentary by a number of notable Oregon Democrats. That has long been dormant, with no replacement, unfortunately.
