What do you think about how detailed descriptions help us gain respect for the client?

There are some schools of psychotherapy that would encourage therapy in spite of improvement— for example, for “growth,” to “solidify gains,” or to get to “deeper meanings and structures.” SFBT is antithetical to these. If there is no problem, there should be no therapy. #SolutionFocused #SFBT
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. This is the overarching tenet of SFBT. Theories, models, and philosophies of intervention are irrelevant if the client has already solved the problem. Nothing would seem more absurd than to intervene upon a situation that is already resolved. #SolutionFocused
