This record really is something else. My Bluesky subscription paid for itself today..

I saw in an alumni email that the Frost School of Music in Miami already has archival storage ready to accept this gift from his family, right next to Jerry Herman's original lead sheet to "Hello Dolly!" and a pair of Gloria Estefan's heels.
Don’t know those but will keep an eye out. The version of “Morning Lake” on here is gorgeous.
ooh, totally missed this one. I've been going back through early WR and Miroslav's solo releases. Next on my list.
That's super-fun. I dig this a lot.
There's a new car on the horizon. It's coming very slowly.
It makes a noise.
It has kittens painted all over it
...with a new kind of fur. Cleaner... but with a unique smell.
reminisce about Slimey's journey, and if you see where this is going once Tony Bennett pulls out a mic, you're more awake than I was that morning.

Of course it was all a long setup to blow the minds of unsuspecting parents. Eventually the mission was (of course) a success, and then the real payoff -- Big Bird and Tony Bennett go out on the roof to look at the moon and...
That season, there was a long arc where Oscar's pet worm Slimey had been selected to be on the first worm mission to the moon. Over weeks they had segments about his training, doing worm pushups, getting flung from the little worm centrifuge, etc etc.
The Artemis crew returning tomorrow made me remember the last successful moon landing. Not Apollo 17 in 1972, the mission in 1998. I remember it like it was yesterday. My son was 2, and every morning I'd get up early and doze while he watched (amongst other things) Sesame Street.
Seems to me that packs of robot police dogs aren't a sign of a slippery slope to a dystopian panopticon, they're a sign of its arrival. I prefer being a citizen to being a subject.
I've only lived in Philadelphia for a year now, and that's long enough to know how long these would last on the streets here if they tried to deploy them.
Don't bother to call this room
There's nobody here who can pick up
By rocket to the moon
By airplane to the rocket
By taxi to the airport
By front door to the taxi
Thanks again to my uncle who left Philip K Dick and Robert Sheckley books laying around my grandparents' house.

Two musicians with large metal handbells
Agreed -- seeing "Bells (I Am)" live was as close as I've come to a religious experience.
My top record of the last decade. It snuck up on me.
yep, went through the list when I followed your link. There's one in there (Coalition of the Willing) that I forgot I owned, maybe never even listened to.
This is why I will never get rid of physical media and haunt record stores (and trained my son to do the same). Every so often he'll surprise me with a white whale my collection has been missing.
Originally released on Gramavision, right? There's so much amazing music from that label that isn't (afaik) available anyplace now -- Anthony Davis, Jamaaladeen Tacuma... Previte's "Empty Suits" from that era remains a favorite.
In a Lyft home after seeing some music and I forgot how much I hate the radio. It’s been a solid 8 minutes of commercials straight out hollering.
First we take art that is dead
And bring it to life with electric shocks
This is very good
It was on FX, so not really "prestige," but "Terriers" was a perfect weird gem.
I’ll be in my office.
Ah! That makes more sense to me -- thanks for the reply.
Can you give some examples of new notation that LvB invented? I have 2 degrees in music theory & composition and can’t find any references mentioning this.
John Fetterman tweet Operation Epic Fury. President Trump has been willing to do what’s right and necessary to produce real peace in the region. God bless the United States, our great military, and Israel.
What a fucking ghoul.
