"Everything we write
will be used against us
or against those we love.
These are the terms,
take them or leave them.
Poetry never stood a chance
of standing outside history."

“At Hunter College in the 1970s, though, there was no one to exchange any ethnic or background ideas. I don’t recall any Latinas in my graduate art classes.” —Evelyn López de Guzmán #repost
Family, history, and identity are what @aaroncaycedokimura.bsky.social’s poetry is all about. And he’s obsessed with trying to come to terms (in verse!) with who he is and what it is that he’s inherited. #PoetryIsLife

Foggy sunrise. Sleepy morning,
And more.
And concision.
Congratulations!
I’m delighted to announce that All Were Limones is now available for preorder from The Word Works! wordworksbooks.org/product/all-...
Definitely. The first few sentences are often an on ramp for the poem and end up deleted (or needing to be deleted) later.
It’s a great day to work in the breezeway. Normally I would be concerned that it’s warmer than it should be this time of year, but today I am grateful. I was craving sun and warmth desperately.

I hadn’t heard. It’s so hard to keep up these days with everything moving so fast. Thank you.
