Hi, I retired from being a Management Account after 35 yrs at 56. Calculated we could get through to 66 on savings & work pensions. Got to 66 OK helped by making my stained glass garden art. Now able to go on more holidays thanks to my state pension. Still making but bigger less saleable things.

Soldering went well. 40% lead: 60%tin solder so I always wear my ABEK1 respirator. I aim for neat joints using the tip of my Weller solder iron. Method #Glass cleaner and my Sonic Scrubber clean off the tallow candle flux. #stainedglass

Nothing better than a relaxing day leading up #stainedglass. The quilting hoop did its job. The #glass is back upwards so the iridescence is out of sight. Soldering another day. My rule re. soldering is never when tired.

At last I'm leading this up. Cut it out in November, first full #stainedglass day in my workshop since. I'm using a 21 inch quilters frame to make sure it is perfectly round. Only 4°c in the workshop so it's lined jeans and builders boots.

Looking back at 2024. Here's my #stainedglass #greenman on the #RaveninghamSculptureTrail in the summer.

The Gang are out of the loft. It must be Christmas.

My opaque #glass version of "Focus on You" is finished. On the back I've attached a stainless steel rod frame and steel rope lanyard, using sections of U profile lead cams and lots of solder, so that it can just be hung on a wall like a picture.
