#rhschelsea. I’m starting to lose interest in gardens that represent this that or the other, I just want to see good gardens and I think we are generally missing that compared to the designs of the 1990’s. I also want to see the work of professional designers, not celeb hangers on. 🌱

🌿☕ Good very sunny morning from Cheltenham🌞
One of my summer favourites has popped up today 👏 Geum Tangerine 🍊
Some gardeners playfully call it the "Clown of the Garden" 🤡 producing five times more flowers than other varieties 💐💝

A great opportunity to show how our gardens boost biodiversity, wellbeing & climate resilience, and how simple actions like planting wildflowers or recording species can help nature thrive.

Having a show garden at #RHSChelsea provided an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness of:
➡️ the catastrophic impact of homelessness on health
➡️ the huge obstacles people experiencing homelessness face in getting the healthcare they desperately need
Co-production is at the heart of what we do. People with experience of homelessness advise across all our work.
This year Ross has been a key member of our #RHSChelsea show garden team - right from the start, through to the garden opening at its new home with @shekinahcharity.bsky.social.

Had a wonderful time at #rhschelsea last Tuesday. Loved the naturalistic planting everywhere. Lots of sweet rocket, foxgloves, angelica, cow parsley.
One of my highlights from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show was that alongside the launch of The King's Rose by David Austin Roses, there were matching meringues to eat 😋
Surely this is the start of a new trend: every garden to have matching edible treats 😬 #RHSChelsea

This plant, Valeriana officinalis, was everywhere in the show gardens #RHSChelsea this year-not sure how the designers manage to restrict its size-it gets to over 7ft here in the wild!
Life-size ‘RHS’ letters made of flowers and foliage with ombré colour scheme filled with burnt orange, red and soft pinks. The structural letters are forest green and are placed on green grass. An overcast grey clouded sky seen above.
Metalwork with multicoloured glass panels in various colours including pink, red, orange and green. This towers over a rocky terrain garden with large wooden bench and wild flowers. A tree trunk is seen on right hand side of image.
Close up of metal structure with purple and pink screen printed glass populated with seed designs. Through the gaps leaves of trees are just seen.
Close up of dark metal structure with red, orange, yellow, pink, purple and blue screen printed glass with seed images.
It was so nice to volunteer for The King’s Trust today, supporting its ‘Seeding Success’ garden at the Chelsea Flower Show. We chatted to people who had learnt about our concept through recent BBC coverage and many thought it looked better in real life. I’m inclined to agree. 💜💙♥️ #RHSChelsea >
Monochrome image of a corrugated metal “art bothy” - with large, almost floor to ceiling, windows - among some coastal plants (grasses and flowers, which mostly had white or pink-coloured heads) on a mound to the right. Outside the bothy are signs saying “art is about freedom of speech” and “all schools should be art schools.”
“Art is about freedom of speech” - so says a sign, by the bothy, in the rather splendid Hospitalfield Art Garden (inspired by @hospitalfield.bsky.social) at #RHSChelsea today. I have some fond memories of #Arbroath; my song ‘Coast’ was partly inspired by a visit there :-)
A view of the Radio 2 Dog Garden, through dense planting towards a bench and outbuilding.
A large purple poppy with a bee climbing out of it.
A close up of a dwarf orange geum.
Two life sized driftwood horses galloping outside the Chelsea Flower Show pavilion
Some more Chelsea Flower Show photos - three from the Dog Garden, and some driftwood horses!
