Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.

Apparently the substation causes brain damage too
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
It was amazing to be back in Athens for the OU Music Industry Summit last week.
I was privileged to conduct keynote interviews with @nabilayers.bsky.social and @ilovelucius.bsky.social and participate in a panel on the state of music journalism with @anniezaleski.bsky.social and Marcus J. Moore.
She's 3/3 on her albums having lead singles with bridges that are immediate replays all by themselves
I dug out a bunch of my old Sports Illustrated for Kids issues from 1993-1996. I heard the trading cards in there might be worth something. Anyone know how to get them graded?
Much needed return of our only good mainstream pop star

Yes, a serious franchise would not accept this
Friend said he thought Peter Gabriel was the singer on “Higher Love” and it makes so much sense
By now you, and hopefully @robert.thecure.com, have heard “drop dead.” 🍬

States should tell FIFA the 2018 document was actually a lottery for a chance to to enter into a future host city agreement and unfortunately they've given all the free transportation clauses away to VIPs but — good news! — FIFA can pay transportation costs set by a new dynamic pricing model
This Deloyd Elze guy is like if Zach Bryan went further down the 22, A Million rabbit hole. I like him a lot, and we had a nice chat:
Rereading this @chrisdeville.bsky.social piece, my favorite details are that you can't do an Alaskan cruise for wildlife noise pollution reasons, and that Isaac Brock doesn't really believe Sixth Man's claim that it "had a lower carbon footprint than your average show." stereogum.com/2493841/we-a...
you know this really immediately puts the answer to my "how the fuck is there a cruise happening for fans of streaming personality northernlion like, happening at all?" question of yesterday. did not expect the world to work such a fast turnaround
I missed this a couple of weeks back, but it's making the rounds a bit today. I have, bluntly, zero MM connection -- the only song I know the name of is "Float On" and I couldn't tell you what it even sounds like. But this is much more about the business, the nature of fandom, and so forth.
I'm so late to it, but this was a pretty fascinating read.
A few years ago I interviewed Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock. He joined the Zoom call from a pool in Hawaii and was so drunk that I immediately abandoned my questions and we just talked for 20 minutes. The story got spiked but I did walk away thinking he’d be a cool beach hang so all of this tracks.
Loved this piece and its amazingly on-brand Isaac Brock quotes

This is funny, but also, in all three of those scenarios the band you're discovering is still there via (potentially shady) industry machinations
Watching guy from Modern Baseball covering John Prine, I still can’t comprehend this timeline
