TWO MORE SPARROWS.
Had a really cooperative Horned Grebe yesterday, but with an overcast sky my camera had trouble finding the focus.
A pair of Pomeranian geese pose for me at Virginia Lake in Reno, NV, while dozens upon dozens of a handful of other birb species can be seen in the lake in the background. Gulls, mostly.
I feel like I'm cheating, but this, and one more of the same, are the only 2 images I have captured of multiple species in one shot.🪶
This week, it's another healthy Mediterranean diet recipe. Spicy harissa tofu and quinoa bowls with carrots and chickpeas. Wonderful! 🌞🌶️🌶️

An image of asteroid Dinkinesh, a pair of grey asteroids with a slightly jagged surface, taken from the Lucy spacecraft. One of the asteroids is much larger than the other.
Surprise! The Lucy Spacecraft flew by the asteroid Dinkinesh and found it's actually two asteroids.
The team's best guess is that the larger one is about 0.5 miles (790 m) at its widest, while the smaller one is about 0.15 miles (220 m) wide. 🔭

Lots of people know that prehistoric sea turtles got big, but it can be easy to underestimate just how huge these things got. The largest verified specimen of a modern Leatherback turtle weighed in at 1,433 lbs, but this Archelon would have been closer to 11,300 lbs. #scicomm #paleosky #paleontology
