Books I’ve finished in the last week. Both harrowing reads. But I’m glad the authors found the strength to write them. #books

Because it forces leaders to find things they can agree on, not just complain about what each other is doing. I see these floor crossers as bringing a different way of thinking to the table, which is needed if we are to see issues in as broad a way as possible within the imperfect system we have.

And value the environment and accept indigenous rights as paramount in regards to decisions impacting it.

Our democracy is inherently problematic in this patriarchal, capitalist, oligarchic society. But it’s the system we have until we change it.

Which is why I like a minority government

If we start writing people off who believe differently than we do, doesn’t that put us in a similar position as the USA where both sides believe themselves to be 100%right and the other to be evil, wrong, etc?

Just to be clear, I’m for healthcare, including abortion, am an ally to lgbtq2s+,

I’m a little concerned there’s something going on in the background to rupture relationships, confidence that hasn’t made it to public domain. They are an international mix, perhaps politics has caused conflict? Hoping I’m wrong.

Ottawa’s play was lacklustre. So many giveaways, missed passes, fans on the puck. I hope they come out in better form for the next one. And I thought the normally unflappable Phillips looked shaky.
They played a dump and chase game but didn’t win the battles, the foot races, or the plays.

The ash like hues from the frost dust the trees and auburn grasses around the river way. There is hope for brightening in the cloud filled sky as the day awakens. All is very calm and still.
