I'm not mad at the new Dexter reboot. Went into it skeptically but I'm quite enjoying it now.

Wrote about a Trump-appointed judge laying the groundwork for arguing that undocumented people in America have no rights at all under the Constitution. It's terrifying, but something we need to pay attention to.
How many times can you bring a guy back from one series into another?
Horror movies do it a lot, but I can't recall other shows that keep resurrecting a MC whose arc seemingly ended.
But why not? It's such a horror staple.

I *might* have started with the new Karate Kid movie bc nostalgia.
Which might be a theme tonight now that I'm onto Dexter: Resurrection. Barely 15 minutes in & we've met a lot of dead major characters.

Bingewatching horror shit to avoid real-life horror shit, as one does. 💀
🎟️ Scary movies account for 17% of North American ticket sales this year, up from 11% in 2024 and 4% a decade ago, according to Comscore data compiled exclusively for Reuters. Read why studios are betting on horror films to reanimate cinemas ➡️ reut.rs/4krzT1l
Hard when shit's on fire. I've survived lots of things, and sometimes you just gotta give yourself over. The key for me is taking action in some direction. I've found over the years rules and formulas always have exceptions. ;) Still, strategies are good! lol
Sotomayor: “Today’s order clarifies only one thing: Other litigants must follow the rules, but the administration has the Supreme Court on speed dial.”
It's not a coincidence that alligators are the animal of choice for a fucking concentration camp.
They know exactly what they're doing & who they're targeting.

Didn't know before today, but...it's part of Black history, and these devils know exactly what they're doing.

Cancer care was half a million for me, not including the ancillary costs when you're in med appts all day and living elsewhere to receive life-saving treatment. A lot of us lose our second income (read: our spouses leave) during it. It all = genocide.
We’re here because white people don’t like the idea of being a global minority in any capacity, which they already are. We’re in this spot because they only care about preservation of whiteness and a delusional supremacy that they created in their heads. You might be mad but I’m not wrong. 🤷🏽♂️
A-fucking-men.
yay! Congratulations!👏

This one is pretty out of my comfort zone, way too realistic in the worst of ways (& to/for/with kids, too). I am not about this high-brow kinda horror; not to say there isn't originality/interesting storyline to (some of) them. I want to be scared, not add more trauma. #HorrorHating
#BringHerBack (may be spoilers)
There are a lot of elements at play: drug OD, child abuse, psychological manipulation and abuse, gaslighting, satanic rituals, cannabalism, self-mutilation, drugging minors...now the bald kid is some kind of mutant...WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF confusion #HorrorHating

Torture is my least fave horror genre, tied with realistic gore (a la Heredity). This movie is the latter.
I've turned away from most of the supernatural scenes, starting with the first one (which was less about gore & more about vomit - have a thing about that 😬) #HorrorHating
Have others noticed an increase in creepy children with shaved heads? I don't know this kid's backstory yet (link for the img) but most of the storylines involve suffering from medical experiments at the hands of parental figures. Is Stranger Things the culprit or part of the trend? #HorrorHating
The movie poster for Bring Her Back, a young kid with unnatural eyes being anointed by a hand from above in what looks like some kind of ritual.
Tonight's #HorrorMovie is Bring Her Back (2025).
Most of the time, when I watch a movie for the first time, I stay away from reviews or summaries of any kind and go in with as few expectations as possible...
which is either amazing or traumatizing, depending on the movie. (poster credit: A24)
This movie is so crazy! I loved and hated it. This part is so nuts, I haven't watched it since.
A person sitting in front of a wall of books. The caption reads, "reading can seriously damage your ignorance."
I'm not shocked a man on the internet called me stupid after I didn't agree with his opinion on a horror movie. Is that really all it takes now? 😂
I have regrets.
The #TexasChainsawMassacre remake is the graphically extreme version of the original. It doesn't add much to the subgenre other pre-Hostel torture. Never got into the sequels. Viewing once every 20 yrs is good enough for me. 😂
The beauty of art is you form your own interpretation. I'm not one for torture porn, and not sure how that's the conclusion. I'm not from the '70s, this isn't my style or preference of filmmaking. Should I be fainting at The Exorcist, too?
iiiiiiii don't remember a whole lot of this movie.
It's def been updated to modern times: gore is the focus, and it starts right away.
The best parts: R. Lee Ermey and the little kid from The Ring.

Because I'm a glutton, we've moved on to the #TexasChainsawMassacre remake. Ii remember seeing this when it came out in 2003, so the characters are more familiar.
I know #TexasChainsawMassacare started a whole subgenre of horror, but remind me to never watch the original again. I have a headache from the nonstop screaming. 😬 (I'm old)
There's so much fucking screaming in this movie. Screaming or chainsaw.
The dialogue is about as loud as the radio chatter in the background.
