I just found out that one of my books has first been pirated and then used by Meta to train its AI. No acknowledgement and no money came my way.
This has to stop. The Society of Authors have organised this petition to the UK government. Please show your support.

A series of 4 infographics developed using materials from the 'Better Communication Research Programme' inc. 'Communication Supporting Classrooms (CSC) tool' (Dockrell et al., 2012). https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/better-communication-research-programme The 3 parts of a Communication Supportive Environment Help children & young people's Speech, Language and Communication grow through the communicative environment your setting provides. Take a look at this collection of four infographics for some of the key features of each part. 1/4 Communication Supporting Environments benefit ALL pupils! Language Learning Opportunities Plan daily activities across the curriculum that support the development of language and communication. Language Learning Environments The way the physical environment is set up and managed can help or hinder language and communication. Language Learning Interactions The way that adults in your setting communicate with pupils makes a huge difference. With effective strategies consistently in place, pupils will understand more, follow instructions better and answer questions more successfully. created by Kate Starr KateStarrSLCN@gmail.com
Here is my evidence-informed resource I shared at the #NAPLIC25 conference yesterday. Top tips to help settings support communication. Essential for pupils with #DevLangDis & beneficial to all 💜 Feel free to share with others ☺️
The diagnostic conversation with families needs to be handled with care when diagnosing DLD. @1hannahharvey.bsky.social's research revealed some 'varied' family experiences.
Check out these slides. #DevLangDis #NAPLIC25
If you have a spare moment (and you do because you're on BlueSky now 😊), I recommend searching #NAPLIC25 and catching up on all of the DLD related posts from yesterday's conference. Lived experience, research and practitioner presentations. It was a magical mix. #DevLangDis

It took permanent exclusion and PRU placement for Abraz to get a a diagnosis of #DevLangDis before needs could be met in education. Subsequently he achieved top results at college, has a degree in social work and is the most inspirational guy!! 🙏🌟 Recognising #SLCN can be life changing #NAPLIC25
