Such a good video for optimizing CPU usage in your game.

Was updating one of my #AFrameVR demos to 1.6.0 and noticed a HUGE performance hit between 1.4 and 1.5. Apparently, the renderer settings for colorManagement, maxCanvasWidth, and maxCanvasWidth were changed and have different defaults.
Forgot how much "fun" it was setting up the .ssh/config and rsa keys for multiple accounts on a single machine for git.
Also, not sure what was up with my old Windows install that prevented me from using it before but managed to get WPEngine's Local app installed and working for local WP dev!
So Windows finally gets it right with a good Start Menu in 10, and then completely shit the bed with the monumental disappointment that is the Windows 11 Start Menu. HECK!
Finally took the time to migrate up to Windows 11. Now, to reinstall gigs upon gigs of apps, lol.
The out-of-the-box Subform field is CLOSE to what I'm looking for, but is really clunky when you nest additional subforms in it with groups of fields.
This *could* be used, but the interface would be a nightmare when you have a library of say, 20 fragments to choose from.
Nah, looked at it, those are just unconventional field types.
Essentially what I want to do is break the site "theme" up into functional fragments where I can pick and choose the placement on static pages, to varying degrees.
Been trying to brush up on my #Joomla skills. It's been quite a while since I worked with it. The new interface seems pretty nice.
As someone more familiar with #WordPress, does anyone know if Joomla has an #ACFPro style content entry module or component that's "standard"?

Awww, reminds me of my last cat. She was such a sweetie.
It's been a little bit since my last post, but this week was rough. I think I went through 2 additional design revisions before finally landing on something I was enthusiastic about. Changed the rules for the puzzle a bit too...

I realize that, but in ATProtocol's methodology they would be bridges to the same goal. Instead of having app servers connected via websocket to a PDS host, the PDS host would instead use oauth to push it's updates passively to app servers it wants to federate with.
Personally, I'm not in love with the fact that in order to push updates to federated apps, it's done using web sockets instead of oauth.
The highlights...
My Spotify 2024 thingy.
Nearing completion for the underside of the dial interface. So ready to get back into developing puzzle logic. This piece had SOOO many precision cuts...

Great feedback. This is only the actual geometry, I don't have any normal maps or anything like that added yet. I will definitely keep that in mind when I get to the point of adding them in!
Here's one of the randomized murals being opened. I wanted the doors to have that smooth, heavy, bounce effect after they come to a rest.

Was able to fumble my way through getting a thumbnail-on-save feature built into my save game routine. Such a nice touch of refinement!
Oh, and placeholder title screen lol.

I get a bit OCD when naming things. I asked chat GPT what the names of some of the objects in my level were and I learned TWO new words: "lintel," and "stele" (plural "stelae").
Lintels are the stones that rest on top of pillars, and stelae are the small stones with symbols on them. ๐ก ๐ง
I've got the first puzzle solution being properly randomized, and I tweaked some of the materials. I'm *REALLY* digging the emissive effect on these murals.
Sundays are for screenshots too, right?

Since this demo project I'm working on is technically the furthest I've been in terms of it being a fully featured game, I wanted to see about putting it on version control and followed this guide, with relative ease.

I didn't know I was signing up for a tear jerker when I pressed play on Clerks III. Damn man!
If you're going to make educational videos on YouTube that are any longer than just a few minutes in length, PLEASE, I beg you, learn how to orate without vocal fry.
Nothing interrupts my attention span faster than trying to engage a speaker's words through vocal fry.
I like atproto, with the exception of how websockets are used.
Success! There was a trick to it though. When you use the Make Array node, you have to initialize it with the output of the Hit Component pin, otherwise the types won't match for the Find node. Also had to switch to a Select node for the Int refs. Thanks for the help!
That's what I was afraid of, lol. My desire for non-repetition is eating away at me. Here's what I'm currently attempting to get working to to slake my desire to remove the repetition.
#Hashtag typeahead with rough estimate of usage like on Instagram would be fantastic ๐
