January travels
Some company on my run this morning 🏃♂️ 🦌
An NHS sunrise…
Excellent as always from Chris and while this is aimed at medics I suspect the sentiment and advice will ring true for many roles…
Yes all a bit downcast but the feeling was things will improve (although I remember reading that about 2024 in the ipsos polling as well) Certainty wasn’t all doom and gloom though with some good case studies
Recap of my orlo big social talk on NHS comms:
◾️Trust is king
◾️Return to face to face engagement
◾️Community connections
◾️Pivot to video
◾️demonstrating ROI
◾️The journey not the destination when it comes to projects
◾️The power of simplicity
😩
Some reflections on the day:
- everyone is exhausted
-melodrama, chaos and controversy the new normal
- too much about what is happening and not enough why it’s happening
-trust is THE key metric for us in public sector comms
- it’s at an all time low
-comms folk must better demonstrate value
Excellent evening at the North East Chamber of Commerce 1815 dinner. Very sharp political and comms analysis from Iain Anderson on what comes next.
London by night on the walk back to the train
Really insightful day at the CIPR conference. Loved hearing from Clive Myrie about the media landscape & where things may be heading
