Guy almost hits me in the mall parking lot and yells at me “I didn’t even see you”
Bro… you should lose your license if that’s the case
Last week a pedestrian was killed at Oak & 6th. The city says: "A study was completed at Oak St & 6th Ave, and a full signal is already warranted. However, based on our priority list, this location is not ranked above other similar locations.”
They knew this spot was dangerous & did nothing...(1/2)
Bike lanes do take space away from drivers.
Why not get rid of sidewalks too, hell school zones really slow drivers down..get rid of schools! While we're at it i'm kind of tired of those pesky residential areas with their people and stop signs - no more homes! Nothing but roads and parking lots.
IF YOU BUILD A BIKE LANE THAT DOESN'T CONNECT TO ANOTHER BIKE LANE THEN YOU DIDN'T BUILD A BIKE LANE
Pedestrian Beg Buttons are the worst.
From the IG: this sort of thing is all over #OttCity and seen as normal..touted as part of our “record setting cycling investment” but is fundamentally unsafe. @brenttoderian.bsky.social @penalosag.bsky.social @urbantruth.bsky.social www.instagram.com/reel/DUih5o1...
Photo of a crane truck parked on a sidewalk and cycle track next to a road
It’s so hard to figure out why #OttCity’s cycle track surfaces are so bumpy.
Anyway, please enjoy this nice shot of a crane. #OttBike
Terrible policies get terrible results!
City clears the streets, they should also clear the sidewalks!
Our system relies on children to look both ways because adults driving don't. Great strategy.
Gonna be hilarious when you don’t pay taxes at Costco or Superstore but do at your corner store
Winnipeg Transit is unreliable fucking garbage!
Thousands of people drive into Winnipeg daily and pay zero to city infrastructure!
It has taken more than 4 years to get a 'pilot project' passed, which actually won't start until next year, and really all that 'pilot project' does is change some signs — we're supposed to be impressed that such a feat was even possible.
Highway filled with car congestion
Highway filled with car congestion
Next time someone tries arguing that it’s “social engineering” (cue ominous music) to give people more CHOICE to walk, bike & take public transit in their city, tell them that designing our current car DEPENDENCY has been the largest and most damaging social engineering experiment in human history.
The Janice Lukes Aquatic Centre already exists — you can find it distributed throughout the city in bike lane potholes and puddles with no drainage.
Fun fact, the bike valet at Sea Bears game will be available to all regardless if you are attending the game. So even if you just want to come downtown for a meal, yes, you have a secure place to park. #winnipeg
"Somebody told traffic engineers that the journey matters more than the destination and they believed it. In the background of this paradigm I see little boys with toy cars happily murmuring "Zoom, Zooom, Zooooom!"

100%, almost guaranteed to hit the red light at Osborne, regardless or how fast you drive, especially at rush hour.
Great example of how stupid AI is.
AI says 4mins 40 seconds
Calculator says 1min 34 seconds
Drive times.
50km/h is equivalent to 13.9 m/s
40km/h is equivalent to 11.1 m/s
30km/h is equivalent to 8.33 m/s
Time = Distance / speed
To travel 1.3 km at 50km/h is 93.5 seconds
To travel 1.3 km at 40km/h is 117.1 seconds
To travel 1.3 km at 30km/h is 156 seconds
For 15 years, Canadians have overwhelmingly purchased large SUV’s and pickup trucks knowing the price of gas will always increase and be volatile.
Maybe instead of subsiding that, we invest in public transit so people have the option to not drive everywhere for everything.
Saving lives? Or removing danger?
We don’t run 'electricity safety' campaigns.
We fix the system.

Oh no, you're NOT a parody account. You're actually being serious.

What qualifies as a small pickup sure has changed over the years.
Minimum weight of a Toyota Tacoma over the past 30 years.
1995 2,560 lbs
2000 2,910 lbs
2005 3,140 lbs
2010 3,430 lbs
2015 3,645 lbs
2020 4,075 lbs
2025 4,145 lbs
I talk a lot about replacing car trips with a bike, but getting started can be overwhelming. A friend of mine just built findtheright.bike.
It’s a 4-question quiz to help you figure out exactly what kind of utility or cargo bike fits your daily life. Try it out, share it with friends and family.
Great reminder, Lukes plays politics with our safety!
So they take money out of funding for an already beleaguered transit system and everyone celebrates? Quite the magic trick
#winnipeg
Agree completely. As I stated in my letter to the editor "As Winnipeggers, we should expect our elected representatives to make decisions for all residents. They should also be making decisions based on what is best for our city and not what is best for their re-election."
