A couple sets of coasters I made for the local market. Not the most exciting project, but uses up scraps and i can exercise some creativity and/or try some things I’ve been wanting to on a smaller scale, like a cerused finish on the oak. I want to play with texture more in the future.

Thankyou
Laser engraved. Can’t tell in the picture, but the bottom was a little convex so the engraving ended up with a 3D global effect.
Thank you… my next project is built in cabinets. But I have been trying to quickly make a batch of coasters, candle holders, and gift-able items for the market near my house, that I can batch out.
Thanks
Last thing made in 2024. This one turned out pretty good. I tend to struggle with turning wood bowls. They blow up on me just at the end. From a maple blank I harvested a while back and finished with Rubio Monocoat white.

Community garden sign, cnc carved cedar, exterior grade paint for a pop of color and 24k gold leaf on the raised lettering. Then laser engraved rear.

The economy of California is larger than most countries. If it was separated from the US, it would have the 5th largest in the entire world.
I was of the understanding Ukraine was the same size as Texas.
Also the Russian economy was the same size as Texas.
🤣
At first I was thinking OC was Ocean City Maryland, but quickly realized it was for Orange County. I think the one here in Pittsburgh,PA died in 2018 or 2019… just after I moved a couple blocks from where it was held.
Now I wanna see the doors open and a mini fig standing inside 🤣
Looks like a bearded Angel with a crown in the wood. Love book matching.
I like the rounded corner near the door
I didn’t know MakerFaires were still being held.
I am hopeful I good air might allow me to stop masking my ply before engraving, as it takes a lot of time to remove on large batch jobs.
I don’t remember the model, I got it about 2.5 - 3 years ago from the proceeds of selling my 1969 Chevy c10 pickup truck. It’s 130W with a work area that is like 33” x 55” or something like that, with auto focus (I removed).
I have a big compressor in the shop just need to plumb it in.
A few years ago I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on an sm 25-50, but ended up with a grizzly 10”. I almost bought the 16-32 for the quick height setting lever, but wanted the extra horsepower. Also the 19-36 should be able to handle most dining tables.
I want to get my air assist upgraded and an over head camera for my omtech laser in 2025. 🤞
New Tools, if tariffs are going to add 25% soon, let’s take advantage of Black Friday 10% and upgrade tools before my the fund’s value plummets. Only down side is I’ll problem never get that ShopSaber industrial cnc router I had been saving for. #tariffavoidance #makestuff #lagunatools #woodworking
That time I was asked to replicate some ceremonial chairs for an Indian wedding… and in a time crunch I was able to do it with dowels from Lowe’s.

Nice job, what wood species?
Cool
A pair of charcuterie boards I made about a year ago from wormy maple. One laser engraved for a gift recipient and one pristine.

I think the hard part will be finding a dowel that matches forstner hole.
Assuming domino is not an option… go find a forstner bit and matching size dowel. ( the bigger the better) and create something of a mortis and tenon. Then assemble with some glue.
That is beautiful
Love this photo!!!
Sounds about right. Unless it hurts, pain can be a big motivator.
