What if you got to work with some of your best friends on a science project? I can't publish how fun this was, but I can show you the data (🧵)! Last week, we posted our second neutrophil swarming paper to bioRxiv and I wanted to post my favorite videos here~

Feels like this paper on protein-templated DNA synthesis by a natural enzyme warrants some comment.
So here's a 🧵. /1

I thought it used protein as a primer to synthesize DNA without any template. Haven’t read the paper yet
This is a handy little website if you want to keep track of how things are going with science funding.

I rarely say no to reviewing a paper precisely for this reason.
Same here.
Congratulations 🎊
Wondeful!! Congrats
Some great (but not surprising to me) news!
"The Trump administration will not be asking the Supreme Court to take up its fight to slash federal support for funding that the nation’s science enterprise relies on for basic operating costs."

Will do!
Hope the software is transferable.
This is correct. We were also asked to let the SRO know before the meeting about any rescue and that too with a good reason.
Not one reviewer (entire review) sometimes I feel rushed to get the review done within 15 minutes discussion time. It works for some and others I would prefer a little more time.
I hope they don’t curtail the discussion time. I feel they rush reviewer (15 min) and many times the members don’t have the full picture.
While 1/3 are discussed, next 1/3 are considered not discussed but competitive. Was told this is to continue for two rounds of review.
Excited to share our @natprot.nature.com paper on using RNA proximity labeling to map subcellular RNA transcriptomes. We’ve been working in this area for a while and wanted to create a resource paper to guide the uninitiated reader. rdcu.be/fblvI
Looks like inputs and pulldowns are run on separate gels and then combined to generate figures
Very nice preprint from the Biggins lab highlighting the importance of the Cbf1 transcription factor in kinetochore assembly and centromere function: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Still left wondering how Cbf1 and Cbf3 interact, as suggested by the old literature on this matter...
At least late submissions are still allowed for those serving on the Study Sections.
Yep. See
grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...
Not a huge deal but definitely a slap in the face.
I have been on so many study sections and never was able to use this (MIRA not allowed for continuous submission). Just one more indignity however for those who have given a huge amount of time and effort to reviewing proposals for the public good
For us, we are on our own.
Nice sign!
This is just the beginning, unfortunately.
Congrats Milica @alessandrick.bsky.social & everyone @gekaragoz.bsky.social lab. Glad we could contribute to this awesome story on #UFMylation & #RQC crosstalk @embojournal.org link.springer.com/article/10.1...
Congrats Craig, and all authors. Nice work.
