Spot on. You can’t respond authentically to art with your arms folded and a sneer on your lips. It’s impossible to be a good audience.

Once again, it feels very strange to be making videogames with all this insane stuff is going on. Selfishly, I'd like world peace, not just for everyone else, but so that I can just, you know, enjoy my day and make nice things for nice people.

Big yes. Broken Veil is a phenomenal thing wonderfully crafted and has stuck with me since the first listen. Cannot wait for II.

a resource-intensive feature that nobody asked for which solves no known problem AND is functionally not just useless, but actively makes the product worse?

a man with long hair is holding a microphone in his hands and says well ... you can certainly try . Alt: Matthew Mercer, the dungeon master for Critical Role, says "Well... You can certainly try", with a confident grin on his face.

The reason why RAM has become four times more expensive is that a huge amount of RAM that has not yet been produced was purchased with non-existent money to be installed in GPUs that also have not yet been produced, in order to place them in data centers that have not yet been built, powered by infrastructure that may never appear, to satisfy demand that does not actually exist and to obtain profit that is mathematically impossible

This is such a misunderstanding of why writers, artists, and designers do research to begin with, which is to find something unexpected, not capture the average or find reference for the default.

And, as always, the biggest misapprehension: We don’t want to NOT do this part. It’s fun to learn shit

The only safe place to use LLMs is in a field where you are already skilled enough to know you would never trust AI. So you might as well not.

We’ve got to start insisting on this Catch 22 being understood in all workplaces: AI only replaces workers too incompetent to notice it doesn’t work.

The veneration of Books As Objects misses the point entirely. If you're reading a book, turn the corners down, break the spine, spill soup on it. It's your book, go nuts. A pristine, unread book is a tragedy in a way that a beloved, much-read book that looks like the dog's been at it could never be.
