My daughter is back from holiday. She loved the ease of cycling, walking and trains/transit in Paris, Ghent and Amsterdam, and mentioned how Munich smelled of car exhaust. As someone who has been advocating for cycling and good transit in Ottawa, this makes me very happy. I may have a convert.

It was a great game. Size matters!
That just make sense. Almost every program seems to have a coop component now.
I would be tempted to leave it about doesn’t fall over, and move it another scooch or two toward (into) the road.
Problem right now is that the feds do give money to the provinces for those things but some provinces squander the money on pet projects like the Therme Spa in Toronto and deals for their developer buddies and there is no accountability. Is it enough? No. But who wants to waste more?
And in Ontario, many planned new bike lanes have been made illegal.

I get angry in this issue of the Ward 9 Newsletter, but many residents agree that there's lots to be angry about on one particular topic. Please enjoy my Councillor's Message: A "balanced" approach #Autowa." www.seandevine.ca/march_31_202...
Thank you for this.
It thing 2 things can be true at once. It was a horrible accident and the CEO’s response was pathetic (I’m from a unilingual Anglo family who took only core French until I decided I wanted to be in government so became bilingual). Sadly, we don’t seem capable of responding to those 2 things at once.
New from me @envirocentre.bsky.social:
Bike share is a proven solution in cities across Canada and would help solve challenges in Ottawa too.

The Glebe BIA had a report done about the area.
We think this image perfectly encapsulates the reason for hesitancy by the business owners to get rid of parking.
While 86% of the respondents who come to shop said they get there by means other than driving, 94% of the owners said they drove.
But later than originally planned.
I hadn’t known about Riegler. Thanks.
They aren’t even that young. The youngest is 23 and some are in their 30s. They are mature enough to be multimillionaires.
Well there was this: youtu.be/yIjaxrQBkPk?...
Small comfort but the Church in Canada has a somewhat more liberal view. Same sex marriages are not required to be carried out in all parishes, but individual pastors/churches are welcome to perform them, and - as a general principle - they are encouraged.
I hear that before amalgamation, Vanier did use the centre line clearing system.
Worrying that Trump has misspelled "bored"
And yet he still brags about improving reliability.
Much better ear worm than many. I’ll take it.
I creating an email just for this purpose an option? Who on Goodreads staff is going to check how often you look at it? I have one I use primarily when I don’t want my regular email known.
People wearing white cowboy hats while watching an event at the Calgary Stampede.
This Canadian is laughing. And although I’m not an Albertan, would like to point out we have had white cowboy hats as the official hat of the Calgary Stampede since 1947.
This is anecdote, not evidence, but in Ottawa we had relatively few serious accidents involving cyclists and pedestrians in urban Ottawa in 2025 (where cameras were), while the number in rural and suburban was very high. And I noticed increased speeds as soon as cameras stopped working.
Done.
I had to work so was only able to be there for the third period, but what a wild third period!
Another great Ottawa Charge game tonight. The place was packed. Again.
