See you in Phoenix!
I will be speaking at the @aaas.org Annual Meeting 2026, where I will present our work that was selected by @science.org Breakthroughs of 2025.
“Neurons Make a Deadly Donation to Cancer Cells,”
Friday, February 13, 2026
11:30 AM to 12:30 PM MST
Phoenix, Arizona

From the first sighting of a colossal squid in the wild to a seriously goofy octopus, 2025 delivered some astounding photos from the ocean’s depths
Neurons can support cancer initiation, growth and migration and can drive therapy resistance through various mechanisms

Thank you Kevin!
Thanks a lot Jeremy! Looking forward for the CSHL Methods in Cancer Neuroscience workshop!
🎉🎉🎉 Our work on Cancer Neuroscience and Mitochondria Transfer has been selected as a runner-up for the 2025 Breakthrough of the Year by @science.org !
I am deeply honored by this recognition and grateful to our team and collaborators who made this possible.

Thanks for sharing!
The @greletlab.bsky.social show enhanced metastatic capabilities of cancer cells that receive mitochondria from neurons in primary tumors, shedding new light on how the nervous system supports cancer metabolism and metastatic dissemination.
Did you know that sea slugs steal chloroplasts from algae as portable snacks?! Neither did I, but a new Cell paper demonstrates that they do. 🐌🧪
My favorite part is the researchers called the storage for these stolen hors d’oeuvres “kleptosomes” 😂🥰

Thanks Jeremy! Hope to see you soon. I enjoyed our discussions in Houston last year.

When I began studying mitochondria transfer during my master's internship in 2016, a committee member dismissed it as artificial and irrelevant to (patho)physiology. It's great to see growing evidence from recent studies proving otherwise 😊
Happy to share our latest study is now out in Nature!
