That’s the one I went with!
I’d also recommend the movie The Imitation Game, it is one of my favorites!
These are the options. “Theory” is circled.
Trying to pick out the carpet for my group’s research space and one option is named “theory”. I feel like it would be wrong not to pick that one.
I will never get tired of these visuals

Come August I’ll be saying goodbye to snowy winters and starting my new position as an assistant professor at @LSU! Very excited to make the LSU Dept. of Biological Sciences home of the Klem Research Group! #geauxtigers
New preprint out! Huge shoutout to @applatt15.bsky.social for driving this project! Excited to see where this collaboration with NREL goes.
Why did I dream about collaborating with Lil Wayne??
There definitely should be (not my terrain on the exec team anymore though). If it hasn’t happened by the Spring ACS meeting we’ll get it done during the exec meeting. You can hold me to it
Well the “Heidi method” is conceptualizing an efficient, effectively workflow then realizing the amount of time to build it will be 10xRamonMethod (1/time unit).
Glad to know I’m not the only one! Your approach sounds solid though. I wonder how hard it would be to code up a workflow to automate the web crawling to search research group websites and publication funding acknowledgements…
What advice do you have for a new/future faculty member trying to map out funding prospects? Are there any comprehensive resources to help identify opportunities behind the more obvious ones (NIH MIRA, NSF CAREER)?
Truly wish I could remember who from the old site originally posted this. It was a woman studying chemistry somewhere in the Midwest if I recall. One of the best #ChemSky drawings I had seen there. h/t to the original owner wherever you may be. Anyone recall who it was?
