Wei Shi @wshisky.bsky.social & Merle‘s work is online. Wei really pushed this work from scratch and Merle linked it to MLA diversification…3rd (co-)first author paper in her PhD. Very proud PI!
And only possible through collaboration with G. Döhlemann, @grandpahiro.bsky.social &, Matt Platre. (1/x)

Our paper is now out in PNAS!
Crops often show boron deficiency in volcanic soils. Here, we identified six variants in two key boron transporter genes, BOR1 and BOR2, that increase leaf boron in natural populations of A. thaliana from volcanic islands in Cape Verde.

I recently moved my lab to Purdue University and am looking for graduate students. We are working at the interface of population genomics, quantitative genetics and functional genomics to understand how plants adapt to extreme environments. Reach out if you would like to discuss potential projects.
Applications are now open for the Workshop on Genomics 2026 (11-24 Jan) in Cesky Krumlov, Czechia. For the first time, we are offering Early Bird Registration discounts! 🐣 Do not miss the chance! 🤩 Help us spread the word among friends and colleagues! 🙆🏽♀️ #evomics2026

Our latest work on the Solanum pangenome made the cover @nature.com 🍅🍆🥔 Proud of this collective work with an amazing group of collaborators!
Finally!
Im so excited to present to culmination of many years of work from the fantastic Defeng Shen and some great collaborators. For details, I have made a digested thread below, but if you are more interested feel free to reach out (and read the paper of course).

The #CologneSpringMeeting poster session featured over 70 presentations, fostering a vibrant social and networking atmosphere. Great discussions, new connections, and inspiring science all around!
Please share widely: I have a 3-year PhD position to work on self-incompatibility in petunia and decipher the molecular bases of non-self recognition across evolution.
Come work with us in the Evo-Eco-Paleo lab in Lille! Don't listen to what you heard, it almost never rains.

🚨New paper published in @nature.com! Using pan-genetics across the Solanum genus🍅🥔🍆we reveal why gene duplications🧬are major contingencies in crop engineering. My postdoc work in the Lippman lab @CSHL, collab. with @katiejenike.bsky.social @mikeschatz.bsky.social chatz.bsky.social and many others!
Our manuscript on the DOG1 dormancy pathway is out! 🥳 It started with a phosphoproteome when working @mpipz.bsky.social and 10 years of hard work @uni-muenster.de from Guillaume Nee with Thorben Krüger and more to prove that AFPs are target! #proteomics #seed www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
