If it makes you feel any better Chris, I’ve only had 2 in the traps in the past 2yrs I’ve been trapping mg
🤣🤣🤣
Wasn’t going trap lastnight, went out to close up the greenhouse and there was a brimstone moth flying about so the trap went on 8/5 nfy iron prom
Best thing was this large red damsel that ended up in the trap! #teammoth
I would concur it’s totally pants down here in the south, I’m near romsey and it’s pants 😂
I think it is because it just feels later into the year than it is maybe 🤷♂️ the exact number is a bit spooky though
Beautiful! 😍
Mission done red spotted bluethroat finally seen, followed up with brief views of bonipartes gull, first two lifers of the year and first two ever by public transport! Cars still not fixed 😔😔😔
That’s a good drop! Think it was 3c here, touch of David Jason but not like that 😱
Ummm I’m going to have to check the harts tongue near me now, cheers Clive
Well worth the work!
I was thinking that, ermine and orange threw me completely when I saw them
That’s a lovely trap Alan, love scorched carpets
It’s lovely seeing the pebbles back isn’t
Pebble prom needs a page by its self #teammoth
Y. Sedella
Orange footy
20 plume
Brindled beauty as you can’t have enough
Strange night of mothing 16/12 was the total, 3nfy orange footman, big surprise! 20plumed moth, only the second garden record and pebble prominent 1 nfg a yponomeata sedella
Was expecting a few more but I’m not moaning #teammoth
Cricky um yes that was a tough night! I was going to run two tonight but I think I’m going to stick to the one
Very nice result sir
Cor you did well! Numbers still not rising too much though? Did you throw the pots n pans at it or just the one?
Cricky Steve that’s a good trap! 8nfy isn’t to be sniffed at at any time of the year, love a chocolate tip
Have to say I’m very happy to hear this, my gut feeling is that whenever the animal is wet, the chemical will transfer to whatever it becomes in contact with ie long grass etc the effects of these other environments isn’t studied hence wide spread of these chemicals
Very nice! Always lovely to see a new moth, fun time….
Trapped Wednesday evening, pretty quiet night still a few great prominents and brindled beauty’s about 2x blossom underwings and a engrailled made the trap. Brings me up to 60sp for the year so far, bit more than last year but I started earlier so I’m chuffed so far #teammoth
Always remind me of a stain glass window
Lol yes soo much cheaper, I couldn’t afford to buy a new purpose built one, the ones I’ve built give me a lot of pleasure. I can understand that, they are bright! They will be the first ones to moan more than likely 😂 that said the actinic I used last year had a record of over 800 in one night 😱
Hahaha you saying that makes me feel sooo much better 😂😂😂
Traps look really good! All mine are homemade but work ok, well apart from the electronics on the new mv set up, great feeling of achievement using something you have built yourself
Good luck Dave, still raining here
