Along with many other nonprofit arts organizations, we learned last night that our grant from the National Endowment for the Arts—$40,000 toward the publication of our books in 2025—has been terminated. While this news was not unexpected, its message was chilling.

I cannot wait for this!!! Which is often how I feel about this series, but especially with Kate Zambreno!

All the summer bulbs are in. And I served as a feast of sorts for many swarming insects. I’ve left the bugs to celebrate their victory against me and am stretched out on my favorite sofa reading Immemorial by Lauren Markham. A good Saturday. @transitbooks.bsky.social

Out today: One of the most beautiful and affecting picture books I have ever seen. Astro tells an existential story about friendship, loss, and grief. The mixed media illustrations are absolutely phenomenal.
