I had it running on a Samsung tv for a while. It's like getting an Xbox for free. I had an old blue tooth controller and I was in.

The week of crazy begins....

This is an excellent point & my exact experience over the past 10 years. At first, I was amazed that a vendor would say “we want to save you money”. Coming from other vendors, I didn't believe it, but it's true. Learning how to talk to AWS is a different skill, but I advise start with honesty.

Thank you Martin!! Nick - you know the saying “when Architects don’t have whiteboards, they do crazy things” - yes, this was a “No whiteboard? OK, we will live code instead” moment…

Wardley Mapping is something I’ve seen around but haven’t tried myself, so it was nice to see an interactive walkthrough by @davidand393.bsky.social at #oredev. Having worked with more customer-centric strategic processes, it would be interesting to test with even more externally driven factors.

Thank you! I appreciate that. I have Staff Eng & Elegant Puzzle on my book shelf. Brilliant books & beautifully bound. So much to explore and learn about in this space. I have the primer on my list.

More than happy to explore creating something. It’s a brilliant technique, but you have to put some constraints up for yourself early on.

I just kept trying it out with a small group - usually in groups of 2 or 3. It took a long time for it to click. Looking at other maps really helped. I did a talk at DOES a few years ago and shared ugly photos of early maps, that ended up in the book. The medium book is awesome, but it’s advanced.
