On 21 January 1326, King Edward II issued a royal charter confirming our first provost Adam de Brome’s foundation of a “certain college of scholars” in Oxford.

Poster advertising that the Electronic Legal Deposit has been restored at the Bodleian Libraries. Text on a white background 'Electronic Legal Deposit resources are now available in the reading rooms again. After much work and collaboration with peers across UK Legal Deposit Libraries, we have restored access to the majority of existing legal deposit materials (published pre Oct 2023), UK non-print legal deposit books, scores, and some journal articles are now accessible from reading room PCs. The interim system works slightly differently from the previous method of accessing eLD on Reader PCs'. Then a Bodleian blue block with the Bodleian logo and a QR code.
After years of hard work from colleagues at the Bodleian and across the #LegalDepositLibraries, Electronic Legal Deposit resources are now available in the reading rooms again! Hurrah!
