It is Clive. It's hard to appreciate the intricacy of the pattern, as the moth is so small.

Thanks Martin. It was the small arrival of Painted Lady yesterday that made me put the traps out (despite unfavourable winds). A good sign for tonight as conditions should be much better.

๐Ÿ˜† North winds tonight, so they could bypass my traps!

Thanks Tim. Huge numbers of Small Mottled Willow over Ireland and W. Cornwall last night, so I'm hoping these (and other migrants) will move east tonight

๐Ÿ˜† Getting to know conditions that won't deliver any moths! I did try yesterday evening however the wind kept numbers low. This evening might be okay, although it will turn chilly later.

Are you seeing exigua? A few here this month.

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

The rains in Morocco and greening of the desert maybe stopping moths from dispersing. You'd imagine there will be a huge emergence over the next couple of months so perhaps May will be similar to 2006!

1 month ago 3 0 2 0

That's interesting. You'd imagine they'd be abundant down there in Spring.

I know, quite odd looking. Almost like a Light Feathered Rustic!
