At the end of last week, I helped curate the Friends of the Ridgeway, Swires Prize exhibition. It's a challenging & rewarding role & one that I genuinely enjoy. Many works inspired by the landscape, but this year, some bird inspired works. Congratulations to all the artists.

Happy 50th Nicola. A little late with my greetings but welcome to a great decade.
A crime scene.
Painting with stylised figures fishing on small boats on a river
Cuban artist Belkis Ayón, La pesca I, 1988 #womensart
Saw some Greater stitchwort today near Nettlebed. Swathes of it on the banks.
Thank you Nicola. If I could share the smell of these bluebels with you......
Of course.
And she'd have been 'celebrating' 96 years worth of life today.
Very close. Around Nuffield.
Loved it Paul. Just listened to it in the studio while painting chalk landscape. Nothing more fitting. Particularly liked the relationship between Ley Lines and First World War trench maps.
Bluebell woods in the Chilterns
There is nothing better than a morning walk on a Sunday, especially if it's in the @chilternsnl.bsky.social and includes a bit of the Ridgeway and these views.
Will be listening to this over the weekend Paul. Thank you.
In this special episode with Professor Mark Connelly we explore the profound connection between landscape, memory, and national identity during the Great War, focusing on the significance of chalk landscapes in Britain and their influence on cultural memory and battlefield symbolism.
On one side, you have the best of humanity, and on the other side, you have the worst. Positivity, science, innovation & bravery are everything that this Artemis mission represents.....and hope.
Thank you, thank you. I had to hang around for quite a while to capture the fleeting sunlight as it landed on the edge of the ramparts
Brilliant post below about Maiden Castle. Good timing as I have just finished my first painting of it.
It will be on show at our Oxfordshire Artweeks exhibition in May with @hedleythorne.bsky.social and Rebecca Carrozza.
I like the idea of a Marmalade deity. Paddington Bear would approve.
That IS stunning.
This is so lovely. Thank you Pat. I'm thrilled that my work has reached the shores of Fuij via you with very grateful thanks. Hope you have a good flight home.
And the scissors are for cutting the nearly empty tubes to squeeze the last drops of oil paint out.
Check out all my broken oil paint tubes below. I am rather messy.
I was listening to him and had to put down my paintbrush.
Thank you Pat. Very kind of you to say this.

We worked with some fantastic ecologists who researched, surveyed, recorded & shared data that we included in this mural.
This is the first panel of ten, which makes up a large public mural that can be seen at Cholsey Pavilion. Each panel is a collaboration between myself and Rebecca. It is part of The Springline Project. mendthegap.uk/enhancement-...
The Springline Mural. March. Panel 1. This lane is dappled in morning light. The Grass Snake is emerging from its winter shelter. Chiffchaff & Song Thrush sing from the willow trees. Brown Hare and Rooks are in the fields amongst the fresh green shoots of a new crop.

Thank you. Quite intense colours.
What a beaut. I've seen a few Brimstones around the village.
'Tintagel'. Oil on board. Painted in 2019.
Walking along the National Trail, Coastal Path, the majestic cliffs of Tintagel come into view, and this is one of those landscapes that can never fail to impress at any time of year.
